This organization has had such weird ways of handling rookies. Trust, I get not throwing a guy out there to the wolves but I just can't help but remember that in 2016 there was a time when Dak was behind Kellen Moore and battling with Jameil Showers. They see these guys at practice and decide that Donovan Wilson is not good enough to get on the field and Gallimore isn't good enough to get out there. It disturbs me these trends have continued regardless of who's the head coach. But Jerry doesn't strike me as a guy who doesn't want to throw the shiny new toy out there so I'm having a hard time believing he's the reason for this as well.....which leaves Stephen but hell I don't even know anymore.....

This team preaches going cheap in free agency, build with the draft and keep comp picks.....yet, you don't play your rookies.....it makes no sense. But somehow Terrence Steele made out there.

For me, it’s a clear indictment of their ability to evaluate talent. Their free agency decisions certainly support that belief.

If I'm remembering correctly.....Giants defense wasn't even good those years. They had a piss poor secondary and linebacker play. They were incredibly deep on defensive line though. Their defense was just like Eli. Not good overall but they made key plays when it mattered.

The Giants really had no business winning those Super Bowls. Nothing those teams did during the season pointed to them beating the Patriots in the Super Bowl. But they did.....
They had damn good defenses when they won the SB's. DL was outstanding. It certainly wasn't Eli.

they really do run free agency as if we are one piece away or a team coming off a super bowl run lol.....almost as if they think they know something the rest of the league doesn’t. U wanna build through the draft but even when it makes most sense don’t develop your guys when you can even in a lost season.

I think frugality in free agency can be very good discipline but I also think at some point you need to pay the going rate to plug certain holes when those holes have plagued you for years. It’s like the lakers in the nba running things like a small market team. To me there’s a balance and Stephen is too far over to one extreme.

Since when have the Giants had the "elite" quarterback? Tittle?

Based on their history they can do just fine with a mediocre to just better than average quarterback, so even if Jones isn't "all that", it may not hurt them...

They have been to or won super bowls with

Phil Simms (Way better than perception of him)
Jeff Hostetler
Kerry Collins
Eli Manning (Hall of Famer)

The New York Giants organization is about Defense, Toughness and Fundamentals. They were lacking all this since Coughlin left. It looks like it is back judging from last year. Now they have improved their roster. Sure feels like the giants are rebuilding for the THIRD time since Dallas has won a road playoff game or a championship.

Gee I wonder why.

Commanders and Giants are going to be interesting this year. Because all things point to their defenses being great. But from watching the NFL....one thing we know is that what's suppose to happen RARELY happens especially in this NFC East. One of these teams will be worse than we project. Its tough to say which because they both have had some very good offseasons...I kind of think Commanders defense is overrated. But if Chase Young takes that next step......may be even better than last year.

I've come to grips man this organization thinks they are smarter than they really are. I don't know if its the 3 Super Bowls Jerry has or what but the way they are trying to go about winning is reinventing the wheel. They are not following a blueprint or a successful one anyway.

I think it’s the early success combined with the fact that business wise- they print money and have made really really good business decisions that have been ahead of the curve etc. I think sometimes those lines blur and they think that that business plan translates to football knowledge.

it doesn’t. Doesn’t mean it can’t but there’s just a aura of irrational confidence that oozes out of Stephen and it’s like dude, we haven’t won jack **** lately.

Haven't won a damn thing. And the scary thing is...what if they do win this way? I think it may do more harm than good lol.

I just see a continuing cycle from this organization......we've ruined about 3 cycles of Cowboy teams. Two of those cycles were Romo's. They've already ruined one cycle that had Dak on his rookie contract. They are entering Dak's 2nd cycle now. Entering the careers of guys like Diggs, Lamb, Galllup, etc....just to waste it and just for more holes to be created.

Yep and I'd say how they've addressed defense as well in the draft. Completely abandoning safety and DT and hoping for 6th round guys and undrafted guys to do something.

Its criminal how many safeties they've passed up and DT's in the 1st two rounds.

That is not true.

Last time they won the Super Bowl they were 25th in rushing defense and 28th in Passing defense.
They lost the first five games of the season, badly. The Cowboys beat them twice during the season. But, by the time the Cowboys faced them in the playoffs, the Giants' defense was pretty great. That’s the year they beat NE. Of course, this is all on memory.

+1

It's crazy how many dudes we've passed on because they don't value those two positions.

I think you're referencing 2008. In 2012, the Cowboys didn't make the playoffs they were 8-8.
