I have similar views. For me, I hope he's gone before we pick so there isn't even a question about it.
Man....you and me are thinking the same. I don't want him to be anywhere around when we pick so the decision gets made for us. Concerns and all....I don't know if I could pass him up though I'm hoping we go defense most of this draft....

Not interested.
I see him as just a big WR who was put into a great position by florida's coaches. They lined him up half the time at TE just to exploit the mismatches.

I see him being a tweener in the pro's. Not excellent as a WR and not a true TE either. Exposed in the running game.

I think plenty of big WR's could do what he has if put in the same system and position.

Go ahead and tell me I am wrong.
I know opinions are attacked around here by those that don't agree.
Time will tell. Bold opinion for sure.

Are you projecting he become total bust?
Or do you think he'll never make a Pro Bowl?

It would be great to have him. But we are so lacking on defense its not even funny.

If we had signed Peterson and Jarrad Reed I'd be all over this. But now were stuck with having to select a corner at #10.
Had we gotten Peterson you still would've had to go corner though. He's at stop gap at best.

That's the thing about the draft.....this season is going to come down to Brown, Jourdan Lewis and Diggs. The rookie corner won't have the impact a veteran would. So regardless if we take Surtain or whomever....its not going to result in more wins. But I'm not just playing for this year I'm playing for the future and if I have 4 years of Diggs and Surtain on rookie deals I'm satisfied......

I think he is as good or better value at 10 than Lamb was at 17...and both were/would be great values at those draft slots.
Lamb at 10 would not have even been great value, imo....ok, but not great.

This is the kid we need if the chips fell right. They didn't remove yourselves from this conversation. Dallas needs major help on the other side. it's a shame really.

Take Pitts at 10 if available, and then McNeil. The rest of the picks take a gamble on secondary, UCF, Kentucky, Minnesota, or Michigan St cbs.
I really like St. Juste from Minny. He isnt much of a drop off from Horn or Surtain. He's a pure cover corner that will fight for the int.

you guys recall last draft when EVERYONE had us taking Chaisson? Can any of us even recall who drafted him and how his year was? Thats why right there, you take BPA unless its a back or QB..period. We did the right thing in 2020 and if Pitts is there this time, he will be a Cowboy. NEVER pass on an elite talent that can change the trajectory of a franchise and break the spell we been under for the last 25 years.

Chaisson had just 12 solo tackles for the Jags and 1 sack for the entire year. I just looked it up. Maybe he got hurt I dunno..but it shows you how wrong mocks and projections are.Thank God we took Lamb.

I doubt he is there at 10 but if he is, I would run to the podium with his name. You don’t pass on a talent like a potential Tony Gonzalez.

I would instruct the guy taking the name to the podium to do Pitts' pimp-walk TD celebration on his way up there......

I'd love to find a way to take Pitts at 10, trade Gallup, 2nd this year and a 1st next year to jump back into the first and get one of the CB prospects we like, or Moehrig, or another one of the defenses pieces we need.

I can dream, can't I?
Way too much. I'd rather stay at 44 and take Stokes or maybe even Farley falls and if not then you could do Adebo in the 3rd. These guys are a step down from Surtain/Horn but one could argue they are more of a ballhawk than the other 2.

Listen, if he's there at 10 and the Cowboys draft him I'd be fine with it.
We would have to do something else to get talent on defense somehow.
Either June 1st cuts or trade.
If he's there it's a no-brainer for me you draft the best player which would be him!. We could trade Gallup or somebody for D help I'm sure. Us there will be good CBS, Ss and LBS at 44 and 75

In 1998 we had Irvin, Smith, and Aikman. We had a solid OL. Sure our superstars were aging, but they were still productive

What we needed was a DL.

We passed up on a HOF talent to take a position of need. I like Greg Ellis. He was a solid player for many years.

But we could have had Randy Moss. Think of how that could have possibly extended the careers of Aikman and Irvin.

Now, I know there were circumstances around Moss. But the lesson we should take from that is that you NEVER pass on a special talent. You should NEVER take an ok player just because you have a need at the position.
