Time will tell. Bold opinion for sure.

Are you projecting he become total bust?
Or do you think he'll never make a Pro Bowl?
I'd say i'm just not really sure. I think with his size and speed combo he can contribute in the NFL. I just don't know if he ends up at WR before its over. Then if he is a WR is he special enough to deserve a top 10 pick?
With a top 10 pick I would rather be certain that the guy you are getting doesn't have to be something else. The questions make it a high risk. Sure I can see the potential upside but is this guy going to be able to be a 3 down TE in this league? I wouldn't want another Evan Engram at 10.

I don't doubt his abilities -- they're surely well proven.

I just doubt we're likely to pass on Surtain when he's needed so badly.

We'll see about that, though. We have enough quality with our TE's that we could pass on him.

I’ll take a quote from mike fisher earlier today. “Cowboys Need a corner .. so you’re saying If you need 1$...you won’t take 100$? Just cause you need a 1$?” I say go BPA if it’s Pitts so be it.

I do believe pitts will be gone. so if one of the CB is your BPA (PS2 or Horn) I’m all for it as well.

Booger would force him to wear #82 in honor of the 4 yard route on 3rd and 8.

There are quality TEs, then there are HOF TEs. Same with players. Pitts looks like true HOF potential. Surtain? More like a good player.

Our last 10 was more like Pitts than Surtain.

Spending on Pitts surely isn't a need. But he's a talent hard to pass up, especially with no truly special defensive players as alternatives.

But with Pitts' 40 time, I doubt he drops to us at all. His potential will surely occur to everyone, and someone will bite before we have a chance. If nothing else, some bottom market team will take the opportunity to get a special player to get butts in the seats for their otherwise lackluster games.

No need to sell me on Pitts -- I've known all along what he's capable of. Like they say, he's a generational talent that would be tough to pass on. I won't complain if he's there at #10 and if we decide to take him, although, I could easily say the same about Surtain and for a good reason. No matter what happens when our turn comes up in round 1, someone very valuable will be taken. I don't complain anytime this team improves itself.

While it'd be tough to pass up Kyle Pitts at pick #10, it'd be just as hard to pass on Surtain when he's needed so badly. It's quite possible Pitts won't even get that far anyway, however. The Cowboys are stocked well enough with tight ends that he shouldn't be overly tempting, imho.
You do realize that this kid is better than Jarwin and Schultz combined, right??

Oh, please! It's insulting that you'd even see fit to ask me that.

Yes, I know what he is and so does everyone else. Get real, ok?

The main reason Dallas would take Surtain is that he's needed so badly!

I’ll bet the Falcons go with Lance if Jones is gone.
agree. They really need to invest in a top Prospect like now. Ryan might have just 1 year left before he retires. Makes sense. Unless they feel Pitts would extend his career and they could contend. Dimitroff is known for going for broke with offensive picks. He loves taking the skill guys in round 1.

Everyone is finally starting to see what I knew all along.
I knew he would eventually shoot up the draft board.

If he falls to 10 you turn in the card and don't look back. Worry about trading all the other guys that he'll replace after it is over. He'd make about 5 guys (Gallup, Schultz, Jarwin, Noah Brown, etc, etc) on the team totally expendable.

Which is why we won’t get him.

Pretty much, but a lot of the teams drafting before us really do suck at drafting and also are hard core going in for QB's....I am sure someone will grab him but the Eagles moving down is beneficial for the chance he falls. Look what happened with Lamb last year.
