Does Dak really care about the Super Bowl when he negotiates for every penny?

BS. His actions say he doesn't care.

Silly question.

Dak made it more than clear that it’s all about money for him.

Funniest part was the Jones’s pretending to play hardball only to cave like they always do. Idiots.

I’m sick of watching greedy NFL players getting paid more and more money every year. Never mind I do the same thing when I seek promotions or pay raises at my job. I still work for the love of corporate America. I Love it. NFL players should be playing for the love of the game and the inevitable CTE that will impact lives after the game. Point blank period. Not everyone has the opportunity to develop CTE in their life times. NFL players should appreciate the fact they are getting the opportunity to do so. Greedy players man.

I don’t want to speak for KSK but I think he would agree with me.

I don’t blame Dak for negotiating how he did.

I hate the team for pretending to play hardball only to cave to his every demand.

The problem is the Jones’s. Not Dak wanting to get paid.. Dallas should’ve let him go play for Chicago or whoever at that price instead of turning us into Southern Detroit Lions.

This is an old and tired argument and it is not his job to help them manage the cap. Did Lawrence, Smith, Elliott or Cooper? One player has cut them a family deal, Big Smitty because he feels he owes them for helping him through his family ordeal.
Dak says he wants to win. With this contract, and how it handicaps the team, does he REALLY want to win, or does he REALLY want to be the 2nd highest paid player? What does he want more?

Oh btw, players generally don’t take less money to play for underachieving, poorly managed teams that don’t have any history of winning since they were born.

just so we are clear.

players take pay cuts to play for teams and organizations that actually you know..... have a recent history of success.
Like Brady when he joined Tampa Bay?

I agree this organization has been pretty inept the last 25 years. Though Jones has been pretty good at assembling talent. Coaching has been a major disaster ( see Garrett! )

I understand players want their money, I just don’t like Dak and his agent’s need for every penny and no 5th year!

..wait till he hits 33 yrs old and still ruminating with JG stigma. If he makes it that far. It will become clearer that it takes a well rounded team to get far.

How about both? Being an NFL QB, Dak would be an idiot not to get as much money as he possibly can. Blame society or capitalism. Don’t blame the QB that will have difficulty walking when he’s 60.

Everyone who makes it to the NFL has a massive Ego. IF you are a QB that is doubled. Now some of that in necessary to believe in yourself enough to stick it out and make it.

And in the end it is a business; not like it was 50 years ago. There are only a few players in todays NFL that would play for the love of the game; play for basically peanuts just to play.

They are long gone.

So Dak wanting to get his - very understandable. While odds are he will get another fat contract it MIGHT NOT HAPPEN.

So he has to make this one count.

So getting all he can is in some ways defensible- my problem is that last 5-10 million of cap space he scratched and clawed to get.

The man was going to get no matter what over $100 million GUARANTEED. That extra can make a difference in getting another solid player or two on the roster.

Which just might make the difference.

Now Dak is far from alone here; Drew Brees milked every single cent he could from each of his contracts- long after financial security was firmly in place.

Which I think can be looked at as a reason the Saint's only got 1 ring.

So getting all he can get; fine.

BUT NEVER TRY AND CLAIM YOU WERE THINKING OF THE TEAM.
Those slobbers here on the board talking about leadership-well that is NOT leadership.

Funny if Dak didn’t demand top dollar, I would think of him as a buffoon. I bet I speak to allot players in the league as well. Buffoons can’t lead. Can they? How do you think the NFL players union would feel if Dak took a discount? Do you think NFL players would praise Dak for that decision?

they are not tied together, i realize your point and like a few QBs we know recently took less , most separate business from playing..

so while dak choked jerry for every penny, he will step on the field as motivated to win SB as anyone around the league..not any more or less then any other player no matter their contract size..

As a fan you have to separate the two as well..they have short careers and some just take all they can get while they can get it..

while it would have been nice for him to be hero with the fans and to the team by taking 35, he didnt , i doubt its because he doesnt care..
And with the no-trade clause, Prescott basically is declaring he's here until the contract runs its course- leading the team into deep playoff runs (or the one step forward, on step back sequence from 2016-19 Before last season's debacle). Either way, Dak is in the driver's seat.

does Zeke?
he held out with years remaining on his rookie deal.

both sides did exactly what they should.
Dak trying to get all he can while he can.
the f/o trying to get the best deal...but also keep our franchise QB.

good on both sides.

yes...he cares about winning.
as much as anybody else.

i dont fault ANY player trying to get all they can while they can.

i dont fault ANY f/o trying to get the best deal possible.

BS. His actions say he doesn't care.
he's busting his *** in rehab.
what do you think is fueling that?
his new contract?
he was doing the work BEFORE the deal was done.
you can ***** about his contract but you can't question his heart.
they are in the arena.
yes...they ALL want to win.
thats why they are among the very few out of the 1,000s upon 1,000s of players in college who all want to be in the Nfl.
its easy to question their desire or want to behind a screen.
step into the arena.

I see the hurt feelings crowd out in force blaming Dak for everything they think will happen in the next few years to kidnapping the Lindbergh baby.

What will be interesting is what these folks think when the cap balloons and QB's are signing for more than Dak.

If I get offered more money at work I'm taking it. If it means we can't afford another architect that aint my business. I can't tell my wife I turned down money so the firm could hire Pencile McGregor. Sorry but that ain't the move.
can we question their desire or want to also?
you know damn well none of'm are working for free.
but Dak is supposed to.
unreal.

not daks problem imo!

i have no problem with dak get every penny he can! it is on jerry and the front office to manage the cap and draft well and scout well and get good player!

dak should not do them a favor on his first big contract!!!! maybe on his second if he wanna sacrfice a little that would be ok!

cowboys fans should be more mad at jerry for stupid contract like zeke and jaylon if any thing. qb get paid...it will never change lol.

I can’t believe people watch guys like Ryan Shazier essentially have their lives ruined on the field, then talk about the players should take less money, and if they don’t “they don’t care about winning”.

These guys have every right to fight for every nickel and dime they can.
jim otto couldnt keep his balance to put his pants on after he retired.
he'd have to slide down the wall half way just to get dressed.
yet key-board warriors say he should take less.
mike webster ended up sleeping under a bridge some where...4x super bowl champ.
they should get all they can while they can.
their bodies earn it.

Dak’s contract in no way impedes what the Cowboys can do in free agency. With the new TV deals, the salary cap is going to skyrocket up next year. Sorry haters.
