Does Dak really care about the Super Bowl when he negotiates for every penny?

If I’m a cowboys player. Why do I take less money, while Jerry And Stephen are busy making stupid decisions like overpaying Zeke.

Over paying Jaylon

over paying Tyrone Crawford

The list goes on.

You want me to take less money so you can pay Jaylon to run around like a ****in idiot looking like a chicken with its head cut off?

You want me to take less money so you can pay Tyrone Crawford to do basically nothing and be on the bench hurt most of the time?

Lol yeah right
Over paying for borderline players, yes Jerry has that knack. Take less money because he has done nothing but fold and disappear when it counted. How fast some forget the reason Zeke got paid, he carried the team 3 seasons while Dak was in his usual funk stinking it up because he didn't have all elite player to carry him (another stupid Jerry deal). Dak = greedy grab the money screw the team, Jerry = stupid and very poor judgment of talent who cares what the team does he likes Dak. You will have the every excuse under the sun for Daks failures and you will espouse his brilliant garbage time stats that do nothing to better the team.

I like Dak and he is a smart person, BUT, He knows this team needs Defense badly! We cannot win a Super Bowl without a legitimate Defense. As great as Tom Brady is, he has never won a Super Bowl without an outstanding D. Look what Tampa Bay’s Defense did to Aaron Rogers and Mahomes in back to back games!

I wish Dak would have taken 33-35 million( still Amazing $ ) per year. This would have left more money to sign someone like KJ Wright prior to the draft. This would have, enabled us, to check of a MAJOR DEFENSIVE need prior to the draft.

What has Russel Wilson won since signing his huge contract? Not many playoff games! He just whines about getting sacked. Hey Russel, maybe your team could have upgraded your O line, IF THEY HAD THE MONEY!!

Dak's cap hit is $22 million this season and $33 million in 2022. If they wanted to sign KJ Wright they could've done it.

does Zeke?
he held out with years remaining on his rookie deal.

both sides did exactly what they should.
Dak trying to get all he can while he can.
the f/o trying to get the best deal...but also keep our franchise QB.

good on both sides.

yes...he cares about winning.
as much as anybody else.

i dont fault ANY player trying to get all they can while they can.

i dont fault ANY f/o trying to get the best deal possible.
Playing for the Dallas Cowboys and playing for a tax friendly state puts millions more in Dak’s pocket. He didn’t have to get every penny possible and no 5th year option!

Jerry is at fault too. He should not have caved to Dak and his agents demands to get every penny.

I also don’t think Jerry REALLY wants to win either. He has said it before, and his actions, say it over and over again, “ it’s about the show”.

I don’t want to speak for KSK but I think he would agree with me.

I don’t blame Dak for negotiating how he did.

I hate the team for pretending to play hardball only to cave to his every demand.

The problem is the Jones’s. Not Dak wanting to get paid.. Dallas should’ve let him go play for Chicago or whoever at that price instead of turning us into Southern Detroit Lions.
I don’t blame Dak either. Still Brady has been “under paid” his entire career and has more super bowl wins than any other franchise, let alone player. That’s not a coincidence.

Brady is the exception, not the rule, so I don’t blame him for maximizing his $$$$. But let’s not pretend that doesn’t affect the rest of the roster.

That said, Zeke is the player to not overpay, and therefore probably not draft at all since ideally 1st rounders stick around for 2nd contracts.

The real question is, did some Zoners care more about Dak getting paid than the Cowboys winning Championships? ;)
oh yeah, it's like they were going to get a part of it. I guess Tad and his brothers are on here.

Let's hear the crying about Brady's wife making money. Sheesh, Dak's BFF running back got money too, why didn't he give his BFF some money.

Of course he does. He cares way more about it than any of the fans here, too.

Brainless nonsense. So many fans here have been loyal and emotionally invested to an almost pathological level for decades or even a lifetime.

Your statement is beyond idiotic.

Personally, I don't believe there's a player under 32 years old that cares about
the SB more than getting paid top dollar.

I guess this is what the brats call "Boomer" although at a month shy of 50, I'm
Gen X, I think. I can't keep up with the names of boxes we are put in... lol.

I can remember Terry Bradshaw, on air, livid at the news of John Elway making
a million dollars in a season to play football.

Point being, it seems they played harder when they made less, generally speaking.

why does everyone just point to Brady who is an exception rather than the rule in contracts. his situation is very different than everybody else. his first two contracts were among the largest in the league when he got them. subsequently he took less money and focused on winning only. his wife makes 4 times the money he makes.

and how do you build a defense with an extra 5M? this is total BS.....there is more wrong with a bottom feeding, bad defense that we had than 5M can fix. or are you suggesting for Dak to have taken a minimum contract or perhaps sign a 4M/year contract to appease you?

. a 31 year old KJ Wright ain't going to fix this defense. and its funny you put your hopes on a 31 year old LB...and btw, you mentioned the money but forgot to mention his cap hit for this year is 22M not the 33M you mentioned above.

all you had to do was take a look at cowboys defensive drafts over the pat 15 years to understand where the problem is....its bad draft after bad draft after bad draft. there hasn't been but one player we wanted to keep and give a large contract to and that's Lawrence.....the money is not the issue. you can't and I repeat you can't build a defense through FA. you have to draft well and if you can figure out why we can't draft defense, then you would solve the cowboys problems.

You don’t understand the concept of a salary cap do you? There is only so much money to go around. If you over pay guys( Dak, Zek, Jaylon, etc. ) there is less money to go around to the other players and there is less money to spend on Free Agents!
Dak insisting on every penny does not help the General Manager build our team. Also, this is Dak’s decision not his agents.
you just outlined your own misunderstanding. we have 8 of the highest positional contracts on the team....so its not the money that's the issue. obviously there is enough to go around... its finding the right players....we paid Jaylon and made him one of the highest paid LBs...is he worth it? we paid Zeke and made him highest paid RB. should we have? and we have the highest paid Guard on our team, do we need to? you spend your money on QBs, LTs, the right defensive players....which we haven't drafted any in a long long long time.....was there any player you wanted to pay on this team and you couldn't?

btw, Dak's cap hit this year is about 22M.....

Would have been nice if we had gotten a discount.
But we had him several years for peanuts
And did nothing.
Jerry is not a GM that excels.

Honestly, I believe he wants to win a Super Bowl, but the way he negotiated for every penny, winning a Super Bowl cannot be his main goal.
so winning the superbowl wasn't Mahomes goal? or Russel wilson? or Aaron Rodgers? or anybody else that got a large contract? so anybody who gets a large contract doesn't care about winning?

No less than Mahomes, Wilson or any other big contract players.

Get what you're worth while you can. When he's no good anymore the team will cut ties no problem.

do you take less when you get a job or negotiate a contract if you own your own business?
