It could go either way.

He need the surgery about 3 years ago but declined Doctor's recommendations to have it.
- He also had a year off to help with other nagging injury issues that he has had.

On the other hand, back issues can be an instant ticket to retirement if luck goes against the player.

The fact that La'el is also an unknown at this point makes OT a definite consideration in the 1st.
- Something seems off with him other than just the injury issues.

The rumor of bone on bone while never confirmed does not seem like something that gets pulled out of someone's backside for clickbait.

Why would Dallas trade up if not for Pitts?
One only other than Pitts I can think of is Sewell. And thats only of we get Witten/Frederick like information before the draft

Restructuring his deal made it very unlikely we actively target an OT

I think I would quit watching the draft and go do something productive.

Restructuring just guarantees the current years salary which is basically guaranteed once the season starts anyway.

I don't think they trade up for a corner.

If they move up its for an offensive player.

And let me guess.....................you are 100% all in for trading up for an offensive player correct?

I can't buy into the fact that our FO would let the whole NFL know we are coveting Pitts, furthermore the whole league knows we are taking a corner due to FA

The Cowboys have tended to avoid those type of moves in recent years.

Pitts is the only player radically above players available at 10.

Maybe Penei Sewell depending on how the Cowboys feel about the long term outlook for Tyron and La'el.
Have you watched Slater? I wouldn’t trade up for him but he looks like an excellent prospect. Kick him inside and then move him to Tackle down the line.

That's the issue with any team that might want to trade up for Sewell. Yes Sewell is a terrific prospect, but how much does drafting him vs drafting a guy like Slater actually translate to wins?

Yes.. Because I understand the modern NFL game.
:lmao2::lmao2::lmao2::lmao2::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

You clearly understand nothing.

So you would actually advocate trading up for an offensive player?

If a great offensive player like Pitts or Sewel dropped to us, that is one thing for serious consideration. But trading up for them? That goes beyond NOT understanding the NFL.

hope you understand that the best offense last year was held to 9 points in the SB.

Lets remember that Catch17 is the same guy that thought QB's Beathard and Kaaya were going to be better Pro QB's than Patrick Mahomes.

The same guy that is telling you right now that he understands the modern NFL game.

A great case for picking a LT over a TE.
Yes, and this thread was about Pitts OR Sewell. I think Sewell is worth a serious move-up consideration. And I certainly understand the need for great defensive players.

Moving up for anyone would be silly. At 10, you sit there and take the guys that fall to you. Will be some great options.

Trading down might actually be the better play.

This draft needs to be about defense. Taking an offensive gem with the first pick is palatable, but ruining the rest of the draft by trading up for one would be monumentally bad.

Yes..

If there was a pass rusher available or a rare Free Safety i'd be all for moving up for that.

Let me teach you real quick on why you shouldn't value linebackers and corners with premium picks.

NFL defenses are just about stopping big plays.. If you're trying to play man defense against the Kansas City Chiefs they will burn you.

So most teams like to sit in cover 3. (The smart teams)

So when they do this they are basically testing a QB's patience and how willing they are to just take check downs and not test the seams.

The tactic that teams use is have the corners and Free Safety play Super deep. Linebackers will even drop deep and Strong Safety will cut things off underneath.

So it doesn't take a great defender to defend this way. Especially a cornerback.

So really the only positions of value on defense is your Free Safety who needs to cover a lot of ground and your guys who can get to the Quarterback. You don't need to spend a high picks on corners/linebackers to get a guy to do this job.

What would be incredibly moronic is if you pass up on a Franchise Tackle or a rare talent like Kyle Pitts for a Corner who is going to play in zone 85% of the time.

Ten draft picks will not make the 53. Why not take 6,7 or 8 better players?
