The way it looks right now is if Pitts is there at ten Jerry won't make the same mistake as he made in 98 so that leaves 3 really good TE's on the roster and the way Schultz played last I could see the Cowboys easily getting a 3rd of 4th round pick from a team that needs a TE (like the Eagles) oh and I don't give a d amn if the Eagles are in the same division. Having 3 really good TE's on the roster is nice but unnecessary so one of them has to go and it could be Schultz.

He was part of the LVE draft class so his contract must be up after this season.

Who is giving up a 3rd to get this guy for a year before he has to be paid?

He is worth maybe a 6th, and means more to the team than that....so keep him, Pitts or not.

You don't trade Jarwin or Schultz (or both) for draft picks, imo.

You trade them for similarly-valued vets on the defensive side of the ball...

Which effectively conceivably theoretically has the effect of injecting some already-developed talent into the defense...

Potentially, then, not a bad idea at all.

Some of ya'll would take Pitts over Lawrence... Because Pitts can make any QB look like Elway...

We just invested a billion dollars in Dak so we need to draft O line or TE to make sure we get the most out of the billion dollars. That is how the Cowboys operate. Some consider it to be insane. You be the judge.

Maybe a conditional 4th. Maybe. Probably not.

Pitts is not likely to be there at #10, nor is it likely Schultz commands a 3rd round pick.

Taking Pitts would be a mistake. Our TE play is adequate. We had one of the best offenses in the NFL before Dak went down. We need defense.
If you don’t recall, we had HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE red zone efficiency. THAT’S why we need Pitts.

Schultz is a slow ** Witten clone who turns a 5 yd pass into 10. Pitts can turn a 5 yarder into a house call. BIG difference.

Schultz has little to no trade value. You could maybe get a conditional 7th that could turn into a 6.

We probably won't know what they're doing until after the draft. Then, you won't know how wise their decisions are on Dak and the draft until after the season. No snap decisions here.

Give me Pitts if Booger plans on drafting an injury prone DB that drags his numb clubfoot around like Jaclyn Smith does.

You aren't getting a 3rd round pick for Dalton Schultz. You'd be lucky to get a 5th or 6th rounder for him.
