Let's stop the Dak is not great non-sense

The front office wants to protect their $160M investment so they have already telegraphed to the whole league that Dak will not be running and will be a pocket passer. You know like what the eagles tried to do with McNabb and the Skins with Griffin. So, no more designed runs, fewer scrambles, and no run-pass option. Dak has great accuracy, though. Dak is exactly what our whole team is. Either we are a team, or we aren't. You can't keep having it both ways.

I think Brady is an example of "great". They plugged him in as the QB and won a super bowl. He doesn't play defense but if you think he doesn't inspire the defense you are nuts.

Not much else changed on that team. couple things here and there. I also think Brady is an exception. Being "great" ...is.

Come on man.. Gronk, Fournette, AB, and Suh are not "a couple things here and there." Those dude came up big, especially in the playoffs.. But I think it's fair to say that Brady absolutely helped inspire the team to play better.. but again.. we're talking about a team that almost won 8 or 9 games the year before with a QB committing 40 turnovers. That pump was primed for Brady.. All he had to do was just don't screw it up.. and he even tried to against Green Bay with INTs on three straight possessions but the defense bailed him out all three times.. Otherwise it's Rodgers/Mahomes in the Super Bowl... When was the last time we had a defense that could bail the QB out from 3 straight INTs? 2009? 2007? 1995? Yes Brady is great.. but the whole "not much else changed narrative" is about as inaccurate as it is tired.

Dak has won before, many times in fact, and the haters will find a way to deflect credit away from him. It's the nature of the beast. When the Cowboys win they say it's in spite of Dak and when they lose it's always because of Dak. Trust me on this one.

Aikman is the hindsight, and until this team can win a SB Aikman remains the comparable standard that Dak must compete with, never Romo.
Ive always been confused when Dak is Compared to Romo as the standard of success, but that is a false comparison, Aikman has 3 rings, and until
another QB hits that mark with this team then it doesnt break Aikmans record,, it might be quite a few more QBS even after Dak to do that though, now, in this new era.

Who was the QB in the 1st quarter of all those games he played in last year? Was he not part of the problem when the offenses stumbled out of the starting blocks at the beginning of games andhad to dig themselves out of pretty big holes. He is good, but great is a stretch. He has shown he is capable of greatness but you have to do it consistently.

Yet.. over the course of his first 4+ years Dak's numbers are right there with Russ's .. The only difference is one guy was on a team with the best defense in football so his numbers were allowed to translate into more wins. It's not really any more complicated than that. While I agree that Dak is not great yet.. nor is he better than Russ yet.. But there was a time when he wasn't better than a lot of guys.. Goff, Wentz, Stafford, Ryan, Carr Rivers, Brees and he has passed nearly all of them up.. except for that group at the top with Russ, Rodgers, Mahomes, Brady and Co in it. And he has done it through his own hard work and dedication to his craft. So as much as it might break the Zone.. there is a decent chance that barring injury, Dak might catch the rest of that last and maybe even pass them up. Sure he might plateau where he is and never get any better.. but the last time we saw him dude was playing at an all pro level.. so if that's where he gets stuck at.. I'm totally fine with it. But I don't think he will.

Dak had good yards behind a team built on offense . Russel had better defenses of course but inferior offensive talent . If you ask coaches and GMs , they will pick Russel due to his game management skills and accuracy . Dak has a lot to prove now with the top salary in the nfl . His 1-4 start last year was no different from a 3 mil dalton , who was actually playing with less offensive line talent after the injuries .
