Video: Broaddus' Latest On The Cowboys' Draft Plans | GBag Nation

So you are calling me on liking a guy you dont like now? Come on now. And I said Id be fine with Williams at 44. I didn't say he was my first choice.

Weren't you pimping a short armed LB with a 16% missed tackle rate in Bolton? Its not like we all don't like someone with some question marks?
No disrespect meant. We both know they like Milton Williams and he is a possible pick even at 44. To come away with those two players with our 1st three picks would be terribly disappointing.

This was just posted. As much as you can trust "insider information" a week before the draft he says there might be another coaches vs. scouts division on the CBs. If true hopefully it works out better than the Taco Watt fiasco.

Getting a corner safety combo is ideal, but toss that out if we trade up for Surtain

CZers seem feistier than usual today.

I'm not for it al all, we would have to give away a pick that could be a starter on a really bad defense. Even if it's our third round comp pick that could be your quality backup OT.

This team needs all their picks if not more ad they have needs on every level of their defense

Gawd that would be stupid. We already have a 3 tech.

The flip side is Horn becomes the better pro and we draft another quality starter on a cheap contract. There are several people who think Horn is the better player.
And some that are higher on Farley. Last year there was a division over the best WR in the draft, Jeudy or Lamb, and it was Jefferson.

Seldom does a team have two players at the same position ranked equally. They give the nod to one and hope he's there.

Cowboys have been hooked up with Surtain from day one because of the perceived need and the consensus that he's the best D player in this draft.

And this draft is shaping up to be the strangest one ever with quite possibly the first 9 picks on the offense. It is not a deep draft on the D side, which is why I don't want them getting cute and trading down.

Not a fan of taking another upside type of 3T, but they reportedly love him. Rather see them trade up for a safety, not a corner, cause they have 3 deep then drops over terribly

When I looked at it Lamb was ahead of Jefferson until Dak got hurt. As far as I could tell Cousins played the whole season. I'm not sure the story is completely written.

Forget about what you think about taking a cb in round 1..thats beside the point

However, there is no damn way you can be serious in thinking there isn't a massive gap between Surtain and the second round corners..I mean that's a damn joke

a joke is thinking we need another CB at 10 before we need DT and FS

that’s a joke

What are your thoughts on getting some sort of interior pass rush? I've been kicking it around and there may be some DEs in the draft that could have success on the inside on passing downs.

Dallas was ahead on Dak because they had him in the Senior Bowl.
He was higher on their board than most teams after a really good week in Mobile.
They saw him compete, win MVP of the game and got to know his character.
.

Dallas was so “ahead on Dak” that they allowed 7, yes SEVEN, QBs to be picked including all time greats like Hackenberg, Kessler, Lynch and Cook and tried to trade up twice for other QBs (unsuccessfully) before finally apparently successfully fooling everyone and taking the QB they had liked all along and were “ahead” on

Yeah let's take a dt ora fs instead..you know a guy who isn't anywhere near a top 10 player in this class..smart idea man..you got this figured out

there is no one worth the 10th pick on defense except Parsons (from a pure talent standpoint). But there are several options in late 1 and rd 2. That’s why I’d be trying like heck to trade down to 15-18 and take Moehrig with that then you have 2 rd 2 picks and you can get a 3T like Barmore (if he drops) or Nixon or Levi with one and a CB like Stokes with the other. Then with your rd 3 picks you can get McNeill (1T) and Adebo with the other and with the rd 4 picks get Browning and Werner you have the beginnings of a solid foundation.

All this depends on being able to trade down

I can do all of this and get better players without moving away from ten

Moving up to 7 from 10 would cost us either

10 and 74: we are over chart value by 15 points

10, 99, 115, 179: We are under chart value buy 14
