Never a massive overpay when a team comes up for a qb. You’ll see Thursday night. Look what San Fran gave up to move up 9 spots.
San Francisco actually paid fair value by the charts.
Slighty below, even.

we are at 10...not 3

But yes, in the top 3, sometimes teams overlay by a fraction.
Never at 10

Not ever...or at least in 15 year....not even for Mahomes when he went at 10

Teams will follow those charts to with +/- 5%...
And Belichick will not overpay

Ok. What did we get for Brady Quinn trade? What did rams give up for Stanford. Teams always have and always will over pay for a and you could bet your *** it will be the pats trading at least the 2nd rounder too and if not than they don’t want to come up and take a qb

depends on how bad the pats want him i would think. if he slid to 10 then i would imagine a lot of teams are going to have an interest. if we value who we want and see them gone in the next 5 picks, stay put and take him. if not, trade down and build up.
If Washinton trades up, yes, we would get a 2nd
If Chicago trades up, we’d get that and more

not New England.

Talking about draft day trades for picks only.
The study we did covered every single trade the last decade.
Outside of the top 2-3 picks, teams stayed glued to the charts, regardless of position.
Thestudy did not go back more than 15 years.

If we can get the Pats' 2nd rounder by dropping 5 spots to #15 and still get Horn, that's a no brainer.

Good luck in Horn still being there at No.#15... then we'd have to move into that 2nd tier CB group, and hopefully avoid a danger of taking a CB just for the sake of taking one risk.

Let's see how much/how bad the Pats want their available franchise QB for the 10th overall pick;
Let's receive at least their 2nd rounder ..and a 4th rounder in this draft for moving down five spots..! .
I don't consider swapping 1st rounders, getting a 1st rounder.

if i'm Miami with the 18th overall and i'm moving down three more spots, ..should we ask for even more additional picks ? .

Or Horn and Surtain are both gone and Dallas is forced to draft the best defender in the draft in Jaelen Phillips.

Dallas would probably force the corner position and take Newsome though lol.
I don't like the way the contract would line up with that of Diggs.

There's no way you can pay TWO corners big money so you are virtually guaranteeing that at least one premium pick won't be here long term.

Yet people didn't want to "waste a pick" by letting Cooper walk and spending his 20m on part of a real front seven.

the facts are he has had several concussions in the past, who cares what Broaddus said.

I want to know what medical doctors think about these concussions moving forward because the position he plays shouldn’t take a ton of head shots anyways.

who would be those " lot of teams " left I wonder ?

- Denver drafts just one mere pick ahead of us, but they desperately need a featured QB as Drew Lock ain't happenin'
- Chicago
- Pats ?
- Washington ?
- Pittsburgh ?
- Las Vegas ?
- Saints gonna lean on Hill/Winston combo ..but good luck with that too.

Moving up 9 points is a lot in that situation. That's like 1000 points. Their entire draft isn't worth close to that after they swap picks. They didn't overpay.

seems like it doesn't take a lot of head shots for him to get a concussion since he has 2 playing DE

Hasn't had one in 2 years and he's the best defender in the draft.

So i'd just prefer to hear a medical diagnosis by doctors instead of this back and forth speculating.

Huh ? .. i'm not quite understanding what you mean.
With what the future new league TV contract is expected to heighten roster caps for NFL teams for years to come ?
why we should be so paranoid regarding drafting high round players, because you're already worried about future cap issues ?

With this logic we might as well package the rest of our No1's and 2's into one player because you think we won't have enough cap
dollars to re-sign players.

The core players the Cowboys are vastly interested in re-signing, we get them re-signed. It's just a matter of what players the Cowboys
consider core players. Absolute must-re-sign players.

I personally would draft Fields if he is there at #10.

I think the defense will be fine this year with the FA additions and adding some defensive players in rounds 2-7.

I don’t think adding one defensive player at #10 in this draft will change the defense that much.

Drafting Fields provides a backup right away and pushes Dak to play his best. Can always trade Fields at a later date if not needed. I am not sold on Dak being able to lead the team to the SB just because he got paid.

Jimmy brought Walsh in. Even said he would go to the airport to pick him up. Psyops at its best.

Often in the draft, as in an auction, if a spot and player are highly coveted by several teams, the bidding will cause an overpay.

It's not out of the realm of possibility to expect a second rounder from the Pats to trade back. Especially, if there's a player we like a lot at 10. If they want their QB, pay us, or don't....we'll take our guy.

Yeah most teams go by some form of that old chart and rarely deviate from that unless desperate or picking like top 3. If one team refuses or doesn't think it's enough, they'll just go to a team that doesn't.
