Joseph was a solid pick.

But the homerun would have been to trade up slightly for Moehrig.

Or stand pat and draft stud SS/LB in JOK. This kid evokes Darren Woodson comparisons.

Joseph is good but was definitely not best at his position.

Moehrig and JOK are arguably the very best at their respective positions.

Haven't posted in a while. And after reading through most of the threads, probably will be leaving again... but I just felt like chiming in here.
I dont get the character concern vibe here. I get the I wanna make some money with my skills vibe. I personally think its BS that these college football players HAVE to play a couple years in college just to have a chance at going to the NFL. And don't get paid on top of it. And no, a scholarship doesnt count. Not everyone wants a degree. And there are countless examples of people dropping out and going on to be very successful.
So this kid knew he could play. Did enough to show that. And then focused on a career he enjoyed and could make some money at until he was granted the "privilege" to be drafted. So good for him. He didnt get hurt. Low mileage. And is now a second round pick. Screw the NCAA and college coaches who feel jilted when these young guys make business decisions.
If this kid has a good head on his shoulders, he will bust his arse to be a special player. Create a brand that leverages his NFL name and continue on with his rap gig. If he is about business, well welcome to the business of pro football. Play well, get paid well.
I wish this kid the best of luck. If he plays like hes capable of, we have a legit #1 corner.

He certainly is intriguing and has good tape. I have zero issues with him being a rapper.

My issue is maturity and being dismissed from two college programs.

I've also listened to 3-4 interviews with the kid. He doesn't strike me as a the sharpest tool in the tool kit. You listen to Surtain or Horn and you can imagine them putting in time, breaking/studying film to get an edge. I'm not left with that feeling with Joseph, lol.
The way he talks has more to do with a personal bias. You are calling him dumb without knowing anything about him. Do you have his academic transcripts you can share with us? Looks pretty smart studying film and not biting on de smiths double moves

Of course there may be mentality and behavioral issues with this player, but the sad fact of the matter is that at the NFL level, the positions of RB, CB and WR are gong to have the highest percentage of problematic players

So no matter who one picks it’s a crap shoot
What? You mean CHILDREN....have done questionable things? Wrong decisions? Lead astray? No.....I guess they will all have to work at Burger King. T=Like the rest of us.

Just some info:

The biggest concern with Joseph is his immaturity, and this shows up both on and off the field. On the field there were numerous occasions where Joseph would take things too far and he had several personal foul penalties in 2020. Off the field is perhaps the more concerning aspect. Joseph was suspended at LSU for an undisclosed violation of team rules. There are suggestions that this was the result of a failed drug test. These issues continued at Kentucky when he told head coach Mark Stoops that he did not want to play against South Carolina. Stoops subsequently told him to opt out, telling the media “that’s not how we’re going to do this at Kentucky”.

The other issue is his instincts. Joseph is a one-year starter and this rawness shows on tape. He has a tendency to bite on double moves and needs to be more disciplined in coverage. This cost Kentucky on a number of occasions and Joseph allowed four touchdowns on his 34 targets in 2020 (he also had four interceptions). The high end plays are there, but Joseph needs to be more consistent to become a starter at the next level.

Apparently the NFL teams disagree considering where Moehrig and JOK were drafted. This board had them overrated.

This team had to have a CB. And I have no problem taking Jospeh in front of Moehrig. And I really like Moehrig. And if the speculation about his back issues are real then I want know part of the player.

Thats hes lazy and takes off plays. I want to see it for myself.
So I can’t send you links from analysts that say that, you need actual video, because you think the analysts don’t like him because he’s a rapper whereas they didn’t have a problem with Toney being a rapper. That whats this all about?

Also, McCarthy has always shown he loves safeties. The rest of the knuckleheads at the top continue to think it's a position that bums and scrubs off the street can play. At leas the Jones' are starting to realize DT are important. About a decade late, but they are realizing it. Maybe in 2030 they will realize how important quality safety play is.

Have you read through this thread? He was kicked off the LSU team. Then got into it with Stoops and was recommended he opt out. Apparently he's a good rapper though?

Well that’s ridiculous. I’ll take a coach’s word who works with a player every day, I don’t need to see video of a player falling asleep in meetings or being late to meetings or taking plays off in practice or getting burned from being lazy to believe it.

On the other hand, there are several analysts who say he dropped because he has maturity issues, gives up big plays and is still raw but does have the potential to develop.

Lastly, there is ONE person who is pulling the rapper card and that’s you which you zero evidence for. You don’t have any articles from analysts, former coaches, or players that say he’s being discriminated against because he’s a rapper. IMOF, I gave you another example of a 1st round draft pick that is also a rapper and he was projected to go in the first round. Sorry, your rapper card is denied.

No, I’m referring to the the behavioral issues they have AFTER they get to the NFL. Those attitude issues and failures to follow rules hurt the team...

.....and since you work at Burger King, I want to thank all of y’all for showing up for work during covid while so many others are at home getting paid $900 a week from unemployment while watching tv and eating Cheetos on the couch......much respect to y’all
