Jaylon Smith is gone next year

Yea, it's tough to imagine Jaylon being back. We can actually save some money if we cut him before the 2022-2023 season.

I also dont think it's an either/or with him and LVE. If LVE stays healthy, he'll be back. If he doesn't, both him and Jaylon might be gone.

Well I can’t see how they pick up Vander esch option even with the cap going up next season. Justify 10 million for him?
It’s 9 but parsons means you don’t need to tender him and with parsons I wouldn’t
Then next year I’d be looking to replace Jaylon
I like Jaylon but I think there is LB’s every year who can replace him much cheaper

I am far from a Jaylon Smith fan but maybe Jaylon Smith will shine now that he has some LBs to ease the burden on him. Maybe Jaylon Smith will get some breaks and not have to be out there every play.

The addition of Parsons and Cox might allow Jaylon Smith to concentrate on some other roles and excel. Maybe the team was asking too much of him. We'll see.

Jerry likes Jaylon Smith. So, I would not get my hopes up of Jerry cutting Jaylon. Look how Crawford collected $20M the past two years.

I feel like I’m the only person left on this site that thinks Vander Esch is an awesome football player.

If Dallas is withholding medical info that I don’t know about then I’m fine letting him go but if he’s as healthy as they say and only being 25 years old it would be nuts to let a talent like him just leave.

He is a freak of a talent and is built for the modern era of football.

He is a cover safety in Urlachers body.

My God Man!!!!

Please stop talking!!! Never seen a guy day after day glutton themselves like you do.

Let see if they pick up his 5th year option or not.....that will say all we need to no.

Catch17 coming out in full force for LVE all but assures they will 100% NOT pickup the option.

This guys never gets anything right.

As of now, he would just be dead money with no savings, but next year, we save a little over 6m. Jaylon stays in 2021 and is out next year. I expect him to ball out since he'll be playing for another contract. Win/Win scenario.
Nope. Disagree about the Jones. They have made Team improvement that has not shown up on the field yet.

That means we can use him up this year. Blitz him 40 times this year.

I'm not going to judge LVE and Jaylon based on that defense last year. I'll give them a chance under Quinn. There is a lot of pressure on them to perform after our draft though.

this is his contract year so I expect LVE to play great but he is one hit from the sideline because of neck issues at a position where you have to hit full speed every play
We should not pick up his 5th year option

Honestly, we have enough depth to not need to resign him now. Additionally, if needed, we can always draft another LB next year.

I think you have to.. Jaylon has zero Instincts and cherry picks tackles. I actually prefer LVE over Jaylon.

Man, hope they can clean out the Clear Eye View inventory from the pro shop

Agreed.

question is do you think Jaylon will actually realize that someone has watched the tape and drafted other guys to do the job or continue on in his blissful "I'm the best cause i try hard" dilerium
