Tebow is there as a mentor to all the young players they have, nothing more. If he makes the team and makes a few plays, so what.
Urban is not a joke. I still wish we had him here in a way.
He trust Tebow to come in and basically mentor and help out as the off season goes along.

Yeah, I agree. He is there to mentor and bring positive energy. He is like a coach on the field. He is also there to sell jerseys, tickets, and build fan enthusiasm. Jaguars can’t draw fans to the stadium. Lawrence and Meyer will help but Tebow has a huge following in Florida.

I think Tebow’s future is as a college football coach. Same with Witten. I see some similarities with Tebow and Witten when it comes to the mental part of the game and life.

This is nothing more than a feel good move by a former Florida HC and one of the most favorite son players in Florida football history. He hasn't done anything, he hasn't made the team, he's getting a paid tryout and I'd bet Meyer talked about this with the owner when he was interviewing. He and Tebow have been close since their days at FL. When Meyer was going through some rough water, Tebow was there to try and help steer him through.

This is a very long shot but it is a good story and gets people talking about the NFL and the Jags when there is little to talk about.

Don't get all twisted until Meyer gives him a roster spot.

I think it’s a joke that Tebow was run out of the league in the first place. He never got a fair shot. He has an above .500 winning percentage, 17 TDs with 9 INTs plus 12 more touchdowns on the ground. He even won a playoff game.

Dummy Rex Ryan never gave the kid a chance in New York, which is especially puzzling because of the trash that was in front of him there. I guarantee you that if he had a chance he would have won more games than the stiffs that they ran out there in 2012.

Like Kaepernick... He's a lightning rod that just isn't worth the circus that comes with him for his level of play.

I'm a Tebow fan too but his play didn't validate the media circus you had to put up with.

Yes. Tebow has friends in high places. You don't. Life is not fair, so go back to your hole and shuddup.

The jags have signed old man Tim Tebow and Desperate Bryant (he recently asked Aaron Rogers for a receivers job) is feeling left out.

So when Tim Tebow reportedly agreed to a deal with his old friend and new Jacksonville Jaguars coach Urban Meyers, Bryant was kinda envious.

And Bryant — still looking for work — finds it hard to believe. Well, believe it, Desperate.
to all the hypocrites here, lets revisit some narratives,

many here claim they hate coaches who constantly bring in their own ex players and coaches etc yet they pine over Urban Meyer who btw is one of THE absolute worst of then with the nepotism beyond belief, brings in a highly controversial asst and strength coach from his college days and now a washed up has been ex player who could possibly be a progress stopper on a young team..

so to all you that said jerry was stupid to not hire and unproven NFL coach with medical issues who does the very things you all hate in coaches..yup

those here also said dont draft a RB in the first round you say, hmm Meyer did it and to boot his 1st year UNDFA cheap RB excelled last season and he steps all over that player..

Nice start UM....

hypocrites..the lot of you..o_O:muttley:

he absolutely has a point. It’s a damn joke that Tebow is able to sit out of the league for 8 years then come back and get a job

Of course the only job Tebow has now is for training camp, and he has to move to an entirely different position to have that chance. And, of course, it is his old college coach giving him the chance.

Unfortunately, at this point, both he and Tebow will have a similar impact on any team the sign with.

But yeah, Urban Meyer is a joke and he hasn’t even coached a game yet.

Thabk God we dodged that bullet
I wonder how long it will take for Urban to double over with migraines.

Urban is a great NCAA coach..until his health issues pop up.. I mean he can really run the operation head to toe. When you are that good, people come after you.

But NFL? He's gonna have to make some serious adjustments. We'll have to watch and see what happens.

As far as Tebow....well...Urban is coach and he can bring in who he wants. If you want to make some nefarious woke issues about it...fine. knock yourself out.

If I were Dez I’d be salty too, but realistically no other coach would entertain this foolishness.

Yes, agree, stout lad.
But me peev is at the lack of grace by Dez. We all probably feel like Dez, but stay classy and instead offer support for more senior citizens like Tebow and Richard Sherman.

I don’t see how you can put Sherman and Tebow in the same sentence given the context...

Honestly, i have not figured out WHY Dez has not been signed by the Texans. they have Former Ravens Passing OC as HC now. so he knows the Offense. + he's instantly the best WR on there Roster. Do a 1 year Prove it deal with him. I think you will get good production out of him. he's a great blocker + RedZone Threat.
