Imagine how much better CeeDee is going to be in 2021 with a full season of Dak Prescott

How many games that year did we win when the offense didn't put up 30? Hint: The Cowboys have not won a game scoring less than 30 since 2018. The defense benefitted from the offense lighting some teams up early and forcing their offenses to go one dimensional. When we faced defense that didn't allow that or an offense that put OUR defense in a hole the defense has very seldom been equal to the task. Every once in a while you need to be able to win a game 12-10 or 10-9. Or how about a shutout on days when the offense is really struggling? How about getting some turnovers?
How do you explain loses where our defense held teams to 12, 13, and 17 points in 2019?

We win those we go 11-5 and waltz into the playoffs.

I just want to see him do more w the ball in his hands.

His year one numbers were more than impressive. Seventyfour receptions (a Cowboys rookie record) to complement 935 yards & five TDs, on a 12.6 yards per catch average.

He appeared in all 16 contests for the Boys, starting in 14, while hauling in 46 receiving first downs, & adding two more scores outside of the passing game, one on the ground, & one on a kickoff return.

Didn't say he wasn't good. I said I want him to do more a the ball in his hands.

I'm just over this false narrative of "well, if we just have an average defense we're golden" when literally 2 years ago proves otherwise.

Fans want to pretend that Dak's injury erases what he was prior to the injury, which was an 8-8 QB. It's like the slate is wiped clean, and now that he is coming off a horrible injury and has been paid like the best QB in the game, he is going to automatically play like he's paid. When do we actually see that around here?

The injury was the best thing that could've happened to Dak. We were 1-3 when he broke his leg. We weren't going to make any noise.

The injury probably is the reason he was paid when another 8-8 or worse season would have not got him a new contract.

I don't need to explain those games.. The offense didn't put up 30 in those games.. Here's a newsflash.. The offense is going to have bad days .. and it can be for any number of reasons.. Weather (New England), injury (Philly, Jets), turnovers (Saints) and yes, your rookie OC getting his butt handed to him by a good DC.

How do you explain the games where the offense put up 22, 24 and 24?

We win those we go 11-5 and waltz into the playoffs.

You're dreaming.. If Dak stays upright the Cowboys win 4 more games.. at least.. I think he splits with the WFTs, sweeps the struggling Eagles and finishes the job against the Steelers.. Once the defense joined the season and started getting turnovers and an occasional stop the Cowboys offense would have feasted ... 10 wins and the best offense in football might have sent his price even higher. The Cowboys are lucky he got hurt..

It's an undeniable fact that Dalton played at a level about 15 notches below where Dak was playing when he was injured. I forgot that debacle against the Giants at the end of the year so that would be 5 more wins with Dak at the helm. So even with that dumpster fire of a defense Dak more than likely would have had this team 11-5 which would have won him a unanimous MVP and a 50 million dollar a year asking price. :)

Having Dak will be big for him but the flipside is there are more tape on him for the DCs to focus on.

No matter how much tape DCs have on him he's still going to have Coop and Gallup on the outside to go with Jarwin back at TE. Lamb is going to continue to get a #3 corner or a safety on him most of the time.. and he should continue to eat that alive.

That remains to be seen. Cooper and Gallup have tendency to disappear at times. If Lamb is having a good game, I'm sure he will be getting their best CB if DC knows what he's doing.

Most teams' top corner is an outside guy. It's VERY difficult to put your #1 guy on the slot receiver.. most corners can't deal with all the traffic in there. It's why otherwise limited corners like Scandrick and Lewis have value because they can cover the slot even though neither could line up outside against even an average receiver and have any success. Shaking up your defense to put your best corner on the slot is a tall ask. Not a lot of DCs can pull it off.. Maybe Belichick? I can't think of anybody else who I would bet on being able to devise a defense that can do that. Also putting your #1 corner on Lamb means putting a #2 or #3 corner on Coop? You really think anybody is doing that? If they do he's going for 300 yards..

I've seen many top corners put on the best receiver in a game. Regardless of where the WR lined up. Even Deion did this.

Deion was not always on the best receiver, trust me. In that infamous 1994 NFC title game the 49ers strategy was to let Deion neuter Harper (which he did) and double Mike with Eric Davis and Merton Hanks until Mike had gone off for 150 yards and a couple of TDs even while being doubled and had the Cowboys threatening to take the lead even after being down 21-0 in the first 5 minutes of the game. The Cowboys also tried this strategy in 1995 when the 49ers came to town and they kept Deion out wide covering a fullback who motioned out of the backfield which allowed Jerry Rice to get matched up against Darren Woodson which promptly turned into an 81 yard TD on the first pass of the game. The Cowboys were FREQUENTLY criticized for not "traveling" Deion with the other team's best receiver. It wasn't that they never did it.. But that in the eyes on the fans and many so called experts.. they didn't do it enough. I know some teams do it but most teams don't. Especially when teams put their #1 receiver in the slot.. It's just too hard..

Did we dream the 8-8 season the year before with a healthy Dak? And there is no excuse in the world that excuses the loss to the Jets. Not even being saddled with....Jason Garrett as HC.
