Could Jarwin be a top 3 TE this year

Jarwin, and I’ll include Schultz, will be sufficient for this offense. I suspect he’ll put up stats like Schultz did last year. He’ll be limited due to the trio of WRs Dal has that will demand the ball and I believe Schultz has earned more throws his way also... throw in the RBs, I just can’t see Jarwin pulling off top five TE production.

Besides.. those “top TEs” are typically a focal point of their respected offensives. With Zeke, Cooper, Lamb, and Gallup... I hope Jarwin isn’t the focus. No offense.

This fan base has so much in common with Jerry it's no wonder several continue to defend him.

Year after year, convincing themselves the roster is better than it is then blaming the coach when another season goes down the drain.

If he has his best year, Jarwin may crack the top ten. Maybe. People saying Schultz is even better are extra delusional.

From the little we saw of him last season he appeared to be an important part of KM's offense. Dak has a connection with Jarwin so I think he could be a top 3 TE in the league.

schultz was 109 yards off of the #3 TE in yards on a horrible offense

It's the opposite, Jake. People who think Jarwin is more of a starter type than Schultz are delusional. Jarwin has all the signs of a part time deep threat type of TE. Schultz has the short area quickness that Jarwin lacks to be the outlet/chain mover type TE.

You saved me from typing. This is what I was going to say. Kelce, Kittle and Waller are all the focal point of their offense along with one other main receivers in some cases.
We aren't going to be throwing the ball to Jarwin enough to deprive Zeke and Amari from their share of the ball (we've got to justify their high salaries as you don't pay players the top salaries and NOT get the ball in their hands) along with Gallup and Lamb too.

Besides, Jarwin will split time with Schultz. No way he's going to put up numbers to make him among the top three tight ends.

They are not delusional, it just depends on how they play the offense. What percentage of offense are they going to run where you want a normal TE, and do they even need the move the chains type TE play?

I am curious what the offense is going to look like

Most O's need a chain mover.

I dont see 5 yard TE catches that convert to first downs as being a big need for them. I will take that all day, I am just saying is that a need for their offensive build. I like schultz too, and his style of play. But zeke would run good with normal TE play, and he would run good with 3 receivers and a TE spreading the field

I disagree. What Dak desperately needs is that short area threat to open up the deep stuff. Sending everyone long has never worked and gets the QB killed.

I agree. People aren’t giving Schultz enough credit for what he did last year. His Targets, Catches, catch%, yardage, 1st downs, etc.. all compare to players that ‘fair-weather’ fans would say are better.

Players like Mike Gesicki, Mark Andrews, Noah Fant, Hunter Henry, Hayden Hurst, etc.. a simple Google search would help some folks.

Schultz is the classic TE, not the ‘new age’ oversized Wr type. He played very well last year and was one of the few pleasant surprises. And he did all that with really crappy QB/OL play. It’s not delusional to say he deserves more than a mention. He’s earned it.

He did play great, and had some outstanding catches, but he benefits from Cooper, Lamb, Gallup, and Zeke like Jarwin would. And my original post isn't about better TE's, it is about top 3 in yardage.

I think Jarwin is in a situation where he could put up huge numbers.

Could Jarwin be top 3 in yards this season for a TE?

2020 TE stats

1. Kelce 1416 yards
2. Waller 1196 yards
3. Hockenson 723 yards
11. Schultz 615 yards

With everyone coming back from injuries this year, the cowboys offense should have lots of fire power. Before jarwin went out with injuries he was starting to be a real threat.

Cooper, Gallup, and Lamb have to be covered. Zeke is a threat that has to be accounted for. That should leave jarwin with less focus.

There are only so many balls to go around, and Kittle was out a lot of last year, but does anyone think Jarwin could be top of the league next year?

With a horrible offense, Schultz was 109 yards off from number 3 last year.

If Jarwin is healthy, I think he has a chance at 1000yards

I don't see Jarwin even being No. 1 among tight ends on the team. Schultz is a better all-around player, so he'll likely be out there more because of blocking. Jarwin is more of a receiving specialist.
