I think Jarwin and Schultz will be big help but if Lamb is drawing a double then Cooper or Gallup are 1 on 1 meaning they will be getting the opportunities then you add the run game which I think Dallas with the OL in tact will be using as well. There are only so many targets and while again I think our TE can be a big help neither guy are players I would be designing much of my offense around.

I am looking forward to seeing how it turns out. "death by a 1000 cuts" possibilities

Myself, I think the biggest help to this offense and this team is actually having a defense so that we don't have to score 30 points to have a chance to win.

Don't think he's got a shot at top 3 in yards without injuries all over the place. Kelce, Waller, Kittle are obviously your top 3. But then there are a bunch of guys who are likely going to see significant increases in targets: OJ Howard, Irv Smith, TJ Hockenson, Dallas Goedert (assuming Ertz moves), Tyler Higbee. Then of course Kyle Pitts.

TDs and YPC will be the important numbers for Jarwin, and he'll have a good chance to be among the league leaders there.

Could Jarwin be top 3 in yards this season for a TE?

2020 TE stats

1. Kelce 1416 yards
2. Waller 1196 yards
3. Hockenson 723 yards
11. Schultz 615 yards

With everyone coming back from injuries this year, the cowboys offense should have lots of fire power. Before jarwin went out with injuries he was starting to be a real threat.

Cooper, Gallup, and Lamb have to be covered. Zeke is a threat that has to be accounted for. That should leave jarwin with less focus.

There are only so many balls to go around, and Kittle was out a lot of last year, but does anyone think Jarwin could be top of the league next year?

With a horrible offense, Schultz was 109 yards off from number 3 last year.

If Jarwin is healthy, I think he has a chance at 1000yards

"starting to become a real threat"?

I think I recall one game where he scored 3 TD's. Thats about it.

1000 yards? 100% absolutely no way will he get anything close to that.

Jarwin will be sharing TE duties with Shultz. Not only that, but he will be the #5 option in the passing game behind 3 WR's and a RB.

Probably have 4 x 1000 yard receivers this year. 40 million dollars well spent.

I seriously doubt it.....one, he is coming of injury. he can be decent, in the 600-800 yard range, which is not bad. having him and schultz in 2TE sets will help both and plus, they maybe the 4th passing option behind cooper, Lamb and Gallup.

top 3...eehhh....perhaps 2nd tier TE, which is clearly the case above.... can Jarwin and Schultz be in the second tier of TEs. that's not a bad thing....

I don't see Jarwin even being No. 1 among tight ends on the team. Schultz is a better all-around player, so he'll likely be out there more because of blocking. Jarwin is more of a receiving specialist.

How much are we paying Jarwin?

The answer to that question should put all this "but, but Shultz..." talk to bed. Shultz was a nice surprise when pressed into service but I don't think he's better than Jarwin and Jarwin's going to get the opportunity to prove it, like it or not.

No. Schultz proved he can be a legitimate starting TE. Jarwin's snaps will be limited due to Schultz being the more versatile player.

Jarwin is a better route runner and a better down the field threat. Jarwin got a 4 year contract

Better down field threat, yes. Better route runner, i'm not sure about that. Better overall player IMO is Schultz. But like I said, that doesn't mean Jarwin will not get his offensive snaps and catches...I just think Schultz will play more snaps.

I want a Te that can catch the short stuff and block in the run game. Jarwin is a fast TE that cant block or a slow WR that cant block.
The idea that Schultz is a better blocker than Jarwin is entirely fabricated.

With Dak back...we will have, THREE, 1,000 yard WR's, a 1,000 yard TE (between 2 of them that is), and a 2,000 yard RB. Dak throws for 5,000 yards.

I did not want to overdo it by saying one TE would have 1,000 yards. That is a bit of being a homer. :muttley:

Jarwin, and I’ll include Schultz, will be sufficient for this offense. I suspect he’ll put up stats like Schultz did last year. He’ll be limited due to the trio of WRs Dal has that will demand the ball and I believe Schultz has earned more throws his way also... throw in the RBs, I just can’t see Jarwin pulling off top five TE production.

Besides.. those “top TEs” are typically a focal point of their respected offensives. With Zeke, Cooper, Lamb, and Gallup... I hope Jarwin isn’t the focus. No offense.
Exactly
Combined they may have 609-700 yards but considering the targets the position will get that’s pretty good
You aren’t taking targets from Lamb, Cooper, Gallup or the RB’s to give more to the TE

LOL Jarwin is twice the TE Schultz is.
Not really
Jarwin is more athletic and has the ability to stretch the field down the seam
Neither is gonna get many targets
If I was betting I’d bet on the TE position, split between them all, get very similar number of targets as last year and the WR’s get more than last year
