I’ll never understand how out of state fans can love all of their local professional teams except football.
What makes you think they don't? And why should they have to?...because YOU say that's the way it works? Pshh.

I was born and raised in NW Ohio. I was encircled by Detroit, Cleveland, Cinci, Indy and Chicago. There was a LOT of football, but for some reason the early 70's Cowboys appealed to me more. Why? I dunno....who can say exactly why....just my boys. I moved to Florida, and after that long you expect me to ditch my 'boys and hitch up to Bucs? As a matter of fact, I do follow and love my local team. Just not near as much as my nearly lifelong Cowboys.

It's probably best to let "good" fans (e.g. not wagon riders) fan whoever they please and worry about it.

The league wouldn’t be able to remain solvent if fans everywhere hopped on to whatever wagon they chose instead of loyalty to the local teams.

And it’s pretty obvious why the 70’s Cowboys were appealing to you. And that’s fine. I enjoyed watching the Patriots this era but I’d never abort my loyalty to my original local franchise .

I enjoyed watching the Packers as a kid in the 60’s and greats like Namath and Unitas but I didn’t abort the local Dallas teams.

I don't think that is even remotely close to the truth. I remember you...you have posted this issue in the past. You need to catch up with the digital age. You can be a fan of anything anywhere in the entire world...and keep them funded.

Not sure it if it is still a thing...but there used to be MANY complaints and beeching...maybe even from the likes of you....how hometown season ticket holders would sell to out of town fans and even the opposing fans. If you want to talk "solvency"...what's the difference WHO pays for the seat.

No sir...I am not buying that you are so concerned with the accounting office of hometown teams. People CAN and DO support their team from anywhere around the globe. The GREAT majority of "locals" don't give a crap about football. Teams NEED non-local support.

They want him to give them a key to the Whitehouse.

Yikes -- if they do what Michael used to do at the White House, trouble lurks ahead!
(Drugs and painted ladies = very dangerous combination for football players.):omg:

Your claim is totally unfounded and incorrect. Teams do rely on the financial support of local fans and businesses for solvency from ticket sales, tv viewership, sponsorship, taxes for stadiums and merchandise sales.

Wagon fans who have abandoned their local or regional fans are a very small part of revenue.

Yeah because Irvin played for free. This is silly logic...
Irvin didn't play for free. He made good money for the times. Did he blow some money on steak knives hookers and blow? yes.

But his passion and...legend....has not been met by these two yet.

I didn’t say “ solely “. I said franchises solvency are dependent on the local support.
