You bring up some good points, but the best point that you make is that these “negative “ fans does not let a football team ruin their life and happiness. For those posters that assumes that we are living in misery is based on pure ignorance. I can’t imagine a full grown adult that is living in misery because of a football team. If the Cowboys have that much influence in a fan’s life, then it is time for the fan to call it quits.
Hating on the Cowboys 24x7 like you and the rest of the haters do is microscopic look in to your lives. You can’t be such a constant hater about anything Cowboys and not be a constant negative Nancy I the rest of your life. Physchology 101.

Serious question....I was a player or coach for 36years and every year brought new hope. We busted our butts in the weight room, film room, 7 on 7 tournaments and by the time the season started we had hope. We had some great years and some bad years, but none of the teams that I was involved with ever quit, cry, pout....as a fan, I get the frustration, but why all the negatives? Why make yourself miserable? What's wrong with just enjoying it and not complain about things you have no control of?
It's cool to have different options and outlooks....I actually enjoy reading a lot of the negative posts, it's pretty comical. To each their own, I guess....I just don't get it.
Salud! I'll enjoy a drink while some of you start attacking me! Lol! Be happy!

The negativity is warranted. 25 years plus of mediocrity. The last few have been filled with promise but ultimately underachieving. Jerry and Stephen make it hard to feel good about the direction. The NFL has become a hellscape of wokeness and virtue signaling. Add it all up and it sucks. I just don’t care enough to get too rilled up anymore. I hope I am pleasantly surprised one year and they make a run. In all honesty I like this team heading into camp. This should be a playoff year.

We are Doomed! Is that negative?

Wait! Still to come all those wonderful Gameday Threads where one bad play can turn into 6 pages of.....

"Oh man!"
"He didn't to that!"
"How can you be so stupid?"
"Stupid"
"Stupid"
"Stupid"
"He was open!"
"No way!"
"Don't do it again!"
"Did you see that?"
"What was that?"
"How?"
"C'mon!"
"This is crazy!"
"Worst decision ever!"
"Why?"

.....and other great comments with expletives for effect.

13 years of Garrett didn't help. Jerry set the tone. Parcells was a step in the right direction back in 2003 and I think this team is a step in the right direction, but the blunders and poor decisions over the years have really been mind numbingly terrible. Hard to be positive when this team is run by people with no accountability whatsoever. It wears you down. I think today there is reasons to be positive, but for quite a spell there were none. Some were just fooling themselves year in and year out including the owner and his offspring.

What he wrote is something often seen. Not naming names, but it happens.
Again, you want to be like Crash, and you’re well on your way, more power to you. Being a whiner about anything Cowboys is not how I want to be.

I try. Believe me I try. Just look at what the habitual haters say to me. But I’ll never give up. It’s not in my DNA like it is for them.
The Joneses have three SB wins. You can say it's because of Jimmy, but why is it impossible for them to find another Jimmy? There aren't any owners in the league with a surefire system. Every one of them is just hoping the people they hire can make the most out of the players on the field. Can Mike do that with these guys? Maybe. If not, what about the next HC? Every team has the same problem.

We just have the added obstacle of an owner who wants to be known as a football guy, and he is, to an extent. That's probably the biggest issue. It's like a guy who knows a little bit of martial arts: He thinks he's tougher than he really is. It's just a matter of time before he gets his *** handed to him enough to realize he's not a world beater. Some people are stubborn, but nobody likes getting whooped all the time.

Jimmy’s team won three Super Bowls using the Joneses money. Jerry was just signing the checks and bringing his Saudi Prince buddy down to the sideline. Jethro was probably passed out at a fraternity party. Why is it impossible for Jerry to find another Jimmy ? Easy Peasy; Jerry only wants weak coaches or bootlickers, ala Garrett and Fat Mike, etc... Parcels needed money and was old but even he bailed out when GM Jerry saddled him with TO. Jerry needs the credit for any winning. There are owners who do have a sure fire system; they hire professional front office football people and coaches and get out of the way. Jerry is not a football guy by any extent - he is a fan who drinks and owns a football team and can do anything he wants. That sucks for us.

Hahaha. You take a lot from one observation. Just because someone doesn't agree with everything you believe doesn't mean they disagree with everything you believe.

Now, while you didn't actually call me a "whiner about anything Cowboys", you do seem to be implying that, so I ask you; What have I whined about?

If any owner had a surefire system, they'd always win. To date, nobody's done that.

hate to be that guy, but….

4 playoff wins
Last time this team won anything they had pedigree at the QB position. Dak is too inconsistent to put this team on his back at crunch time. This team needs a polarizing leader in the locker room who can over come the dysfunction of this organization. Daks a bus driver and can't do it without everything being perfect. If you don't have pedigree your at a big disadvantage.

Then you should go back to college and take "physchology" 101 again. Because this is one of the dumber hot takes in this thread.

Is it really BS?

Name for me the only team that has had the same GM over the last 25 years. Hint, there is only one. Then tell me the number of playoff wins that team has had over that 25 year stretch. Hint, it's not that many.

Then ask yourself what other team in the NFL would keep a GM employed for that long a period with such a shoddy postseason record? Hint, there wouldn't be any.

There is one explanation for why this team has kind of just floundered around for the last quarter century. It's the one constant throughout that period - Jerry Jones. I don't think he doesn't want to win like some suggest. But he also doesn't have the pressure on him like other GMs do to make sound decisions. Jerry can tinker without worrying about his job. Any other GM can't goof around and tinker or make some bad roster decisions or hold onto a coach (like Garrett) for as long as Jerry could. It would cost them their job on any other franchise.

There is also zero doubt that Jerry hires coaches that won't push back hard on him when he wants to tinker. I doubt someone like he and Belichick could ever co-exist. Belichick would want him out of his business and Jerry wants to be involved in every aspect of roster building.
