I have heard now numerous times Tyron is physically better than he has been in years.

I know, same old story for ever player, every off season.

However, Smith is actually backing it up with more participation in OTAs and offseason work than he's been able to do the last few years.

He said the surgery has been all the difference and believes delaying it contributed to his plethora of resulting injuries.

Let's hope this is a fresh start and he can come back healthy for the superbowl run.

Yeah it sure sounds that way. I was skeptical about the surgery, and I appear to be dead wrong. It's been really positive to this point. What a difference this guy could make over a long season. He's still one of the absolute best in the game.

Scary thought. He said he's really been dealing with this his entire pro career. So what if we've never really seen his best and now we're about to?

Stare into the bathroom mirror and Cowboys! yourself in the face.

The problem with playing with or through an injury is that you compensate to protect the injured part.

Often leading to a related but totally different injury even after the original injury is healed.

I'm a skeptic...back etc will be fine, and then someone rolls up on his ankle or knee a few games in and here we go again...he doesn't play a position that is easy on his body unfortunately. He is one of my all times on this team, but I have no faith

He has needed that surgery for 3 or 4 years now.

Doctors had recommended surgery way back then and he declined.
- Even if he had the surgery immediately after a season, he might have missed the next season because of the recovery time.
- Since he was out early in the 2020 season if gave him almost a full year before the next season to recover.

I've known a couple of people that had back/neck surgery and it was like a miracle.
- They both went from being in fairly extreme pain to about 10% of that pain within a week and basically pain free in less than 6 months.
- Obviously they were not NFL players but the instantaneous relief of pain was amazing to see from my perspective.
- On the flip-side, I know a guy with back issues that won't get the surgery and he can barely function even at his desk job (Constantly has to alternate sitting/standing ever 30 minutes).

Someone went to medical school.
