I have heard now numerous times Tyron is physically better than he has been in years.
I know, same old story for ever player, every off season.
However, Smith is actually backing it up with more participation in OTAs and offseason work than he's been able to do the last few years.
He said the surgery has been all the difference and believes delaying it contributed to his plethora of resulting injuries.
Let's hope this is a fresh start and he can come back healthy for the superbowl run.
He has needed that surgery for 3 or 4 years now.
Doctors had recommended surgery way back then and he declined.
- Even if he had the surgery immediately after a season, he might have missed the next season because of the recovery time.
- Since he was out early in the 2020 season if gave him almost a full year before the next season to recover.
I've known a couple of people that had back/neck surgery and it was like a miracle.
- They both went from being in fairly extreme pain to about 10% of that pain within a week and basically pain free in less than 6 months.
- Obviously they were not NFL players but the instantaneous relief of pain was amazing to see from my perspective.
- On the flip-side, I know a guy with back issues that won't get the surgery and he can barely function even at his desk job (Constantly has to alternate sitting/standing ever 30 minutes).
