Hope you all have a great one. When I was coaching, I would tell my kids that they were a direct reflection of those that raised them. Not all of them had fathers, so we became that figure and mentor that many of them didn't have. Parenthood is a great responsibility. Again, happy fathers day, happy belated mother's day and a big Salud to those that stepped up and help raise those without parents.
BTW, sirloin fajitas and Charro beans on the menu today!

Happy Father's day everyone.
My son took me out for a very nice lunch yesterday. As we usually do it on Saturday's to avoid any crowds on Sunday's.

Blackened Salmon over grained rice, Mac & Cheese, salad. Some queso and salsa appetizers. Both had a little kick to them.

I am having a GREAT FATHERS DAY. My Army kid just surprised me with a pair of Dallas Cowboy tickets for our Nov 25th game against the Raiders. Unreal. Never been to Jerry World. I can't wait. In fact, never been able to see my Cowboys live in person. Been my dream since age 5 and I am 50 now. lol.

Happy Father's Day, everyone.

It is really interesting the memories we have of our father and, in particular, those one or two that really stand out.

My father was a good man, a deacon in our little church, my little league coach, a good husband and provider, wildly sarcastic and definitely old school. I also remember him as not overly affectionate.

The day before I graduated from A&M, he was called out on a job. Quite frankly, I didn't expect him to show up... but he did. He drove all night - about 7 hours - to attend a couple hour graduation. He said he wouldn't dream of missing my graduation. One of the warmest memories of my dad.

Happy Father’s Day. You got some pico de gallo to go with those fajitas?

I was asked last month by my family what I wanted for father's day. I guess I am so hard to shop for that everyone was at a loss at what to get me. My reply to them was quite simple. No phone calls or messages or texts on father's day morning so I can sleep late.
