Not that evidence matters to some, but here’s more detail about how the Cowboys were CHOSEN
To Quote:

The biggest lie being told or suggested right now is that a desperate Jerry Jones either outbid or outmuscled the rest of the NFL to get his team on the show. That’s simply not how “Hard Knocks” works.
They take volunteers first from the teams eligible. That's how it works.

That link is a load of hooey!

Common Sense! Jerry loves attention and this will give it to him. You know he sees the PR value in such a move.
Again, please provide any actual evidence he volunteered the Cowboys.

No one is denying he loves the attention and welcomes the Cowboys being selected .

You admit Jerry's love for attention but doubt he volunteered the Cowboys? There is no smoking gun here either way. There is just what makes sense.

Someone needs to confront Mr. J and ask him if he ordered the Hard Knocks gig. Jerry, tell us the truth...

Jerry's answer: You want the truth, you can't handle the truth because deep down in places you don't talk about at parties, you want me on as your GM. You need me as your GM. We use words like finish, fight, faith. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending something. You use them as a punchline. You damn right I ordered the Hard Knocks gig.

Case closed fellas.

You made a statement that he volunteered the Cowboys. We are just asking for anything in writing or a link to support your opinion.

Otherwise we will go with the info provided by the league and HBO.

I'm stating what makes obvious sense considering the kind of guy Jerry is. All we've been told is there were 5 teams eligible and HBO prefers volunteers. Then we had a guy write an article stating a bunch of hooey. That wasn't official information from the league or HBO, it was just his opinion. Are we to believe Jerry for once went against his nature and didn't opt for a high-value PR gig when it was offered? Of course he did!

No, you obviously didn’t read the links provided. HBO chose the Cowboys out of the 5 eligible teams for obvious marketing reasons.

And there’s probably no doubt our owner was pleased.

But there’s was no need for our us to volunteer as we were one of the 5 finalist teams and HBO needed the team who could bring the greatest ratings.

There’s no evidence that any influence from our owner was needed.

I read the link! It's full of hooey. It's one guy's opinion, not an official statement by HBO. Of course there was a need to volunteer the team if they wanted the gig. HBO was clear when they said they prefer volunteers.

There are several different articles . None of which mentioned any need for Cowboys to volunteer as they were the obvious selection.

And you’ve still not provided one link that supports volunteering was needed from the Cowboys.

At this point you’re one anonymous fan with nothing in writing to support your claims.

It's weird reading a thread when one of the major posters is someone on your ignore list. It looks like people are arguing against a ghost.

I ignored JoeKing ages ago. People are finding out why.

I haven't officially ignored him yet, but I've unofficially decided to never read another of his posts again after seeing the word "hooey" actually used intentionally, and more than once.

"hooey" for **** sake... jeezus man.

Make a note... I'm not going to provide a link to support what I believe. I believe what I believe out of knowing what kind of person Jerry is. Oh, BTW, you've still not provided one official link from HBO or the NFL that disputes what I believe. At this point, we can all be described as anonymous fans with nothing in writing to support what we claim.

I’ve not provided my opinion. Only what has been reported by the NFL and HBO which your opinion differs with no supporting links to support.

Ive only stated there is nothing in writing or in the media to support your opinion that the Cowboys ownership influenced the decision.

And you can’t provide a link to support your opinion cause there isn’t. Lol

This is my first encounter with him. He appears to have an opinion he believes to be factual but has no link or means to substantiate. Which is bordering on breaking the rules if presented as fact.

Not presented as fact, just stating what I believe and I've made that clear. If you don't like it, that's fine. We can just go our separate ways in disagreement. But stop grandstanding by insisting I prove my every thought without you reciprocating.
