And here is where the argument lays. We can end this right here. Show me these official comments from the NFL and HBO. Stop telling me what they said and show me. Give me a link. I know you can't do it because they don't exist. There are just articles by third parties saying that crap because that's how they feel... which doesn't matter.

When you say there was no need for the Cowboys to influence the decision or volunteer the Cowboys, that's just homer talk. It's what you say when you are under the influence of the Cowboys Kool-Aid. For those of us not under that influence, it just sounds foolish. The Cowboys are a 6-10 team that is just getting older and farther away from doing anything. They get flexed out of prime-time games and fail to win their division. This is who they presently are. How does what they presently are make them the obvious choice without being volunteered? The NY Giants finished higher in the divisional standings and were an eligible team as well. How do they get overlooked? I'll tell you how... they didn't volunteer as the Cowboys did. ;)
Wrong again u r on a roll

I provided the links. You’ve ignored the information or haven’t comprehended how the process works.

The Cowboys are the obvious choice as was noted in these articles because they will draw the most viewers and generate the most revenue for HBO of the 5 teams who qualify for Hard Knocks.

And I’ve repeated this several times.

You provided links but not the official comments from the NFL or HBO saying the Cowboys did not volunteer. I have ignored nothing on this thread. You're a homer spreading homer articles as proof. That's fake news, not facts. You Cowboy Kool-aid drinking fools think that crap means something when it's just lies. You know Jerry volunteered this team for Hard Knocks. It's so obvious. I know you want to shut me up and it would be so easy to do if you would just provide a link to an official comment by HBO or the NFL saying the Cowboys did not volunteer. There are a few homers out there writing articles saying the Cowboys were chosen not volunteered and you love to cite those homer articles as if they mean something but they aren't proof of anything. No sir! I want proof from HBO or the NFL. You can't do it because those comments do not exist because they are not true. Jerry Jones volunteered this team for Hard Knocks because all he cares about is being the center of attention. You know it's true, you just won't admit it.

Where’s the proof that Jerry volunteered? Waiting……
What happens if Jerry volunteers the team? They get the gig. Did they get the gig? They got the gig. 6-10 team just getting older and getting flexed out of primetime games and can't win their division. That dumpster fire somehow got that gig over another eligible team that finished higher in the divisional standings and in a bigger sports market. That only happens if the Giants don't volunteer but the Cowboys do.

It sure was nice of Ken Rodgers, VP of NFL Films, to publicly thank
Jerry Jones and Mike McCarthy for "letting us tell the story of what we think
will be the beginning of an exciting year in Dallas."

From an article on NFL.com

And if he did I’m glad. Love to watch the Cowboys behind the scenes, sucks if you don’t
I agree, it's not a big deal because they got the gig anyway. I just hope there is a minimal distraction from it. Enjoy, Cowboys fans!

Why do ppl make posts with definitive statements when they don’t actually know what they are talking about? No Jerry could not have said “no thanks”, because it is mandatory for the team selected to participate.
I never knew this, so thank you for posting some actual relevance.

If selected from the 5 eligible teams, you're right, however, they could have not volunteered as the other 4 teams did. ;) If all 5 teams did not volunteer, HBO would have picked the one of those teams with the biggest market, the New York Giants. They didn't make the playoffs last season but they finished above the Cowboys in the NFC East.

In all honesty I am good with it. Hard Knocks is more of an actual Dallas Cowboys season than the games are anyways.

I’m not a Homer. I’m very cynical of the Cowboys this era and one of Jethro’s biggest critics. You obviously haven’t followed me or you’d know.

This petty accusation is simply an attempt to discredit me personally because you don’t like my message. Thus far I’ve refrained to lowering myself to any personal innuendos.

And while I’m sure our frikin owner embraces the selection there's been no indication or evidence his influence or volunteering was necessary.

So until you provide some evidence to support I will continue to dismiss it until such has been established.
