Cowboys defensive rankings during Super Bowl years

So every time Dak throws an interception, fumbles the ball, or over throws a wide open receiver, we need to blame it on the defense?

No, when Dak throws for 400yds and 4TDs and we lose by 2, 48-46, people will continue to cry empty stats. We can't have it both ways and we all know that our defense needs to step up for our team to be successful.

You could have just posted the defensive rankings and it would have been enough. Some of these ranking happened while Dak was a baby. He did not have to be shoehorned into this, but hey, Rockport is gonna Rockport I guess.
Can't handle the fact that a Super Bowl winner needs a team and not just a QB huh.

Riiiiight.... because Dak is so great he does that 8 to 10 times a season, and the defense lets him down every time.

I had unmentioned ulterior motives as well.

Hopefully, the Cowboys defense can open up against Tampa Bay like the 1992 Dallas Cowboys did against the defending SB champions (at the time) Washington

Nah, just the next time that it happens. I was speaking about last year to be exact, but go off. To put it more simpler; When Dak has a descent game and doesn't come from behind because our defense is giving up record number of points and yards, plenty of people scream empty stats. You know what I'm speaking about, but you have to deflect. I'm focusing more of our defense improving a great deal from last year so our 4th round, ROY, can get our team where we need to be. Can't we all agree that our defense needs to improve for us to be successful or is just more Dak bashing?

Over the past 25+ years the majority of superbowl winning teams have had both the offense and defense ranked in the top 10.

98 Broncos, 06 Colts, 09 saints, 11 Giants all had top 10 offenses while the defenses were average to bad

00 Ravens, 02 bucs , 03 Patriots, 08 steelers, 15 Broncos had offenses ranked 15+ or higher. Defense rankings either number 1 or number 2

07 Giants , 12 Ravens only years both teams out of top 10 in both offense and defense

Chance of a team winning a superbowl or being productive in the playoffs without a good defense is very slim

20 Bucs were in the top 10 of both categories
19 chiefs top 10 offense defense fell in the average category but played better in the playoffs
Would have to look up the 2018 eagles stats

Basically shows you defense is a HUGE factor

Isn't that what you did when Romo was doing those things?

Nope, I blamed it on Romo for being a choker. But somehow Dak gets the excuses Romo rarely got.

I thought in '92 we had the #1 defense. I remember the buzz of the 92 NFCCG was the 49ers #1 offense going against the Cowboys #1 defense.

O well, that just kind of surprised me. But as Jimmy Johnson used to say, offense sells tickets and defense wins championships. 100% facts right there.

They were the #1 defense. They're #5 in points allowed. #1 in yards allowed.

1971 they were 7th
1977 they were 8th
1992 they were 5th
1993 they were 2nd
1995 they were 3rd

Hopefully this will shut the Dak haters up but it won't. Can't wait to see the excuses coming.

One of the things that is often lost in discussion of those 90s SB teams was just how talented those defenses were. They were fast, athletic and talented as hell.
