Do you have a link for that. I certainly don’t recall an overall top 10 defense since Wade was HC. And I believe Bills first year was our only top 5 defense this era. But that’s off of memory

And I’ve looked at site before. I think they break it down to passing, rushing, etc.

Unfortunately that’s how the NFL.com does it now too instead of total defense.

Edit: the sorting is done different. Yours sorts by total yards, the link I provided sorts by points allowed.

Which would you rather have, a defense that gives up a ton of yards but few points, or one that doesn't give up much yardage but gives up a bunch of points?

It’s like NFL.com which used to be the official stat sheet but unfortunately they no longer rank by team total anymore either. They break it down from passing, defense, etc.

Man for the life of me I certainly don’t recall a top 10 defense this era going back to Romo era I think in 2009. And only top 5 total defense was Bills first year in 2003. I’m getting old but my memory still pretty good. I’ll need to further research but I seriously question. But thanks for the link.

I made an edit.... the sorting was different between the two sites. Going by points allowed they were a top 5 defense in 2016.

2018 was ranked 6th in scoring and 7th in yards
2017 was 7th in yards but 13th in scoring
2016 was 5th best in scoring but only 14th in yards

And the offenses have been loaded if you're including the line

1995 they were 3rd

Hopefully this will shut the Dak haters up but it won't. Can't wait to see the excuses coming.

Ok. That’s what I thought . By points not total yards.

Total yards is the official NFL guideline. The reason points isn’t used is offense gives up points with turnovers plus special teams can score points skewing the total given up. .

Total yards has always been the official measurement. Thanks for clearing that up.

Turnovers have been the defense biggest problem overall the last 5 years. Run defense recently.

So Dak had a top 5 and a top 10 defense in two seasons, and a top 15 defense twice. The only year he had a god-awful defense was in 2020.

SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME WHY DAK KEEPS GETTING THE POOR DEFENSE EXCUSE WHEN HIS DEFENSE WAS BAD ONLY 1 SEASON..........

You missed the narrative completely actually. The conversation I have with non trolls are typically educated and informative. I wouldn't expect someone like you to understand. And no I wont waste my time explaining it to you.
