Aloha guys and gals! I am spending most of July in Kauai. One of the things that happens to a person when lounging on a tropical island is it allows one to see the folly in so many of the daily toils folks from the mainland engage in. Easily one of the silliest toils I see myself engaging in is arguing with people who claim to be fans of the Dallas Cowboys about how good our players are and how successful they can be or who around the league is better. I've resolved to just not do it any more. Nobody is changing anybody's mind about who they like and dislike anyway.. I suppose it's just a way to pass the time during the offseason but some people don't seem willing to let go of it even once actual football begins to be played. It's like they're trying to suck the fun out of being a fan of our favorite team. That I cannot abide!

You may wish to have a look at Pollard's game logs. He had more games under 4 ypc and 3 ypc last year than Zeke and he was TFL'd at a higher rate. He had a few plays that skewed his numbers owing to small sample sizes but overall he was no better than just okay and generally not as good as Zeke.
I'm right there with you both in your post and soon to be Hawaii. But it will be on the Big Island and permanent. Aloha and mahalo for the post.

Ok so what quarterback and offensive line did Pollard have? Because I don't recall him struggling or underperforming in the time he had out there......
I will tell you again..and these are the FACT of history accounting...

#2 ALWAYS do well. Sometimes obsenelyso....they are SUPPOSED to...they are the change-up that strikes them out.

But not so good when #1. DO I need to list them for ya? Really?

Pollard didn't even start in NCAA. I'm not bad-mouthing him it's the way it is. COULD he be a legit #1? Who knows?....not even you. Not yet anyway. He's proven nothing but an excellent #2.

Ok so why did Zeke not have a. few plays to skew his own stats? I'm not arguing who's better. I'm arguing against the argument that Dak somehow needs Zeke even though Zeke looked bad without him last year.

It's my opinion they feed off each other. I know...I was a bit harsh on Dak up there....but Dak more importantly the TEAM does better with healthy productive zeke. 2016 dude. Proof.

Zeke still have anything left? I dunno but he deserves a healthy team to see.

Why do ya think they are best buds. They know it. Why not you?

Oh great another Dak thread.

I’m sure there will be some new stuff discussed here.

Zeke is a shell of his 2016 version. You could make a good case that the cowboys do better when their offense is 2016 style in terms of wins and losses but our defense also performed better in 2016. That said i don't care Zeke just needs to hold on to the damn ball.

and his blocking has been worse but I don't blame him because the line has been a turnstile and often Zeke is handcuffed at who he has to block.

I mean you can tell me as many times as you want lol......at the end of the day no one can sit here and tell us that Zeke only struggled because he didn't have weapons around him when Pollard didn't either.....

The whole "the backup always looks better than the starter" is irrelevant here. Because this isn't about who's better. I'm not arguing that Pollard is a #1. What I'm saying is if that excuse was valid for Zeke than it should've effected Pollard as well. It didn't. Pollard even started for Zeke and had a solid game.

So no. There's a reason why Zeke is training harder than he has before. He knows what the deal is. You guys are trying to pacify him here but he knows the deal. He's not training hard for the hell of it. He's not "in the best shape of his life" because he was good last year.

If you watch Zeke you know he's not the same back. Good or bad....he's not.

There are a number of reasons why a few splash plays would not skew Zeke's stats, not the least of which is his sample size was MUCH larger. As I'm sure you know the larger the sample size the less significant any single data point becomes. There is also a matter of utilization patterns and running styles. Moore runs Zeke almost exclusively up the middle while he tends to run Pollard more to the edges. This makes sense given their build and running styles but it also means Zeke will necessarily have fewer big plays and a lower per tote average. Add in that Zeke also gets many more short yardage carries and you get what you get. Still I have been saying for well over a year that if Kellen Moore is going to run out of shotgun as much as he does and be as quick to abandon the run as he is, then we should trade Zeke and draft another scat back to pair with Pollard. Zeke is wasted in this style of offense and we will never get true return on the investment in him if we're going to play this style of offense. And since we now pay Dak 3 times what we pay Zeke it's a good bet we ARE going to continue to play this wide open pass happy style of offense. So Zeke is probably never going to be among the league leaders anymorie in anything except blitz pickup opportunities. So people will hate him for it.

Exactly, Zeke is not ready to sit behind Pollard so he got his but in gear....Thats good as it only helps the team. I would love to see 2016 Zeke.

Moving the Paradise huh? Um jealous.. well kinda. I have never been to the Big Island except to bounce through the airport but Kauai is way too small for me. I get island fever after a few days.. I do have a couple of friends who live there so maybe someday I can talk the wife into a visit. It's gonna be hard though cause she absolutely adores Kauai. Anyway congrats on your impending move!

One guy is league wide? Do you think his 3.9 YPC and 7 TD's scared a lot of people last year?

That's what you posted about a month ago, you posted one article and it wasn't from an active coach, it was some writer's opinion.

Hold on....so let me get this straight....

Zeke just showed us that with Dak gone....he was less than stellar.......

But now I'm suppose to believe that Dak's a product of Zeke?

:lmao2:

This AFC coach must've just got out of jail from a 5 year sentence.

So are you telling me that Dalton is as good as Dak and the defense could not focus on Zeke even more?
