Dear naíve lad. In most jurisdictions, outside of Iran, N.Korea, and Taliban-controlled areas, there is a little known facet of the law called probable cause.
Yes, Perry, anyone can be accused of DV. But police and magistrates seek proof, first.
An agitated perp outside his ex's home at 2 a.m. may be normal behavior in your family or hood, but in most of the U.S., it is probable cause, argumentum in legal terms.
You must live in W.Virginia is or East Texas, where this type of situation is only a family spat.
Have you lived in West Virginia or East Texas?

Lol. What an idiot. Burglary too. What a total moron.
We don’t know the situation. I actually feel sorry for people who make dumb mistakes like this. He’s never been a problem before that ICR.

Maybe the worst take ever.

False accusations should carry 2x the penalty of the purported crime
Not 2x but definitely equal. Like Flamma was trying to say, a woman can be abused for weeks, months and years and then finally have had enough on a time where she wasn't injured or is scared, etc. She might be inclined to make something up at that point just to protect herself.

How old is Sherman? You know a lot of people that get arrested making “mistakes”?

There's a big difference between arrested and convicted. I'm not sticking up for Sherman just saying wait before condemning him to hell.

And that is still 100% wrong. If he has proof of her making it up, all the other gets swept away.

Not every thing in the world can be subjective. Filing a false report is illegal.

Our judicial system can be incredibly ugly to the innocent in this country. All it takes is someone to accuse and it can get ugly. No one should have to lose anything for being innocent.....and in this country you could be pronounced guilty before even going to trial in the court of public opinion.
This is truer than you probably even realize

It's not a black and white situation is what I'm saying. Circumstances matter as I've previously laid out.

I'm glad he did beat on a woman and that no one was hurt. Even though he should not have tried to force his way into his family member's house. Him allegedly fighting with the police might have something to do with this being investigated as a felony.
I'm glad you're glad

Anyone remember Richard Sherman gloating about negotiating his own deal so agents can’t take advantage of him?

Also the reason we’ve gotten no official comment from Sherman’s camp yet… because he has no one who can make it.

The law needs to be black and white. Calling cops after taking a jack Johnson and Tom o'leary to the puss is warranted. Planting a gun in the suitcase to be uncovered by TSA is not.

This is an impossible standard for a functional society

That's probably for the best if he really did what they're accusing him of lol.

Well I disagree. Circumstances matter. If a woman has been beaten for 10 years and finally has had enough and tells a lie just to get the guy arrested and make her safe then I totally understand that. If you don't? Well enough said.
