People forget that the actual roster was wasted while “training Dak”. We wasted the best OL and RG while Dak completely foundered around. There were times this team played Dak when the season was basically over, because Dak needed the experience.

Now the narrative is this FO didn’t give Dak the tools he needed. Love how they re-write the narrative…. it’s pretty comical.. This offense has been tailored to Dak since the very beginning…. even Zeke is now used as a play-action decoy…

2018, saints, 2019, rams . Usually don’t get to play a winning team until the end of the season or the playoffs. And that takes a team not a quarterback. Anything else . You need to know about football just ask
Then divide the 160 million dollars to the rest of the team.......guess now you're going to sell the position BS..

Fri, Nov 30
Saints @ Dallas
W 13-10

Do you think the defense might have won that game as they held the Saints to 10 pts?

Sun, Dec 15
Dallas vs Los Angeles
W44-21
The rams did NOT make the playoffs that year.

So let us see what 160 million dollars buy you?
1 win against a playoff team in 2018?

I don't think criticism should be considered hate. I don't think not believing in Dak yet is hate. Nobody "hates" Dak. They just aren't sold on him the same way other are yet. Also, back to back season of not making the playoffs, Dak getting injured, and then getting that huge contract has just fueled the fires. I don't think any team fears Dak passing the ball yet. I think they WANT Dak to pass the ball, because they know there's a much better chance they win the game if he's forced to be the man on offense. Maybe that will all change, but it hasn't yet. If Dak comes out this year on fire and we win games then nobody is going to say anything. Winning cures all.

I'm a Zeke guy. I think Zeke was the most responsible for the success we've had since him and Dak entered the league. Zeke was the most important part of the offense his first 3 years and the team thrived because of it. We have not made the playoffs unless Zeke won the rushing title. I believe that is pretty significant and speaks volumes towards who the real engine of the offense should be. I don't think that anyone that criticizes Zeke is a "hater". I think they are frustrated with losing.

I’ll go over it again. At first Dak was only winning because he was being carried and could never put up good passing numbers. Then when he started to put up numbers (he was leading the league in passing which is good) it was because of garbage time, bad defenses, etc.

Anyone who has to come into every thread and “critique” every-time is a hater in the colloquial usage of the word.

Them there are some that actually hate the guy and won’t accept him as our QB.

You’re in literally every thread about Dak “critiquing” him. Call it what you want. I say you fall into the hating category. You can not like it, but it’s how it is.

They do not care the team was 1-3 with Dak and 5-5 with Dalton. They only care Dak's stats looked good in losses, outcome be damned.
Just curious, did you give Kitna the same love for his record in 2010 compared to the horrible record the starting QB produced that year?

I don’t mind the take, I just want to know if it is consistent in similar circumstances.

Now imagine if Dalton could actually have had an off-season to learn the offense.

Dak having good stats in losses is like saying jaylon is good cause he gets all the tackles.
What was the scoring avg with Andy vs Dak?

Unfortunately your post is well thought out and carries a high degree of common sense.....so it of course will be discounted as words of a hater/troll.
Actually, words of a person with a persecution complex.

14 TD's in 9 games which averages out to 1.56 TD's/game.......which is slightly below the per game average of 1.75 TD's that Dak provided in 2017 & 2018
Is that how stats work? Leave out some when they hurt your argument.

I partially agree. I think the key to winning is a balance attack.

Dak has not struggled in the last 4 starts. In fact, he was the only bright spot on the team when he went down.

Dalton's success came when our defense started to click. He really do much of anything.

Really depends on this defense which is just too young to trust. Under Marinelli they gave up a ton of yards too easy. They tightened up to not be last in league giving up points but too little too late kinda thing. Offensively we were too quick often giving the ball back to the opponents after quick drives and we were below average in the RedZone. Dak is fine 20-20 but then gets bogged down. He needs a better defense to lean on and a run dominant offense helps.

You are welcome to look it up. You can find the other thread where what's his name posted red zone stats from 2019...they were pretty close mostly.

I thought I heard it dropped close to 10pts a game without Dak. Maybe I heard wrong.

You said 2017 and 2018. Leaving out 2019 and 2020

I simply used 2017 & 2018 as a way of comparison much like the individual asked me specifically about what Dalton did in 2020 filling in for Dak. That said for the 2016 season Dak accounted for an average of 1.81 TD's per game, in 2019 he averaged 2.06 TD's per game and in his shortened 2020 season he averaged 2.4 TD's per game. Therefore, outside of the 2020 season (mainly due to as many state was a pass heavy offense due to a poor defense resulting in large score deficits) the difference between what Dalton did and what Dak did was only a .50 TD a game average difference.

It might have. keep in mind Andy came into this system with no training camp and backups get very little practice time. So yea I expect most QB's to have a down year/learning curve under these circumstances.

Plus Andy Dalton is pretty much a failed franchise quarterback, like Baker Mayfield, Matt Stafford, Carson Wentz and Jared Goff.

You mean the same Goff that made it to the Super Bowl? You mean the same Mayfield that has as may playoff wins as Dak?

Yes thats how the team was in a nutshell. I think the problem was that old regime where they did nothing to address the issues in the red zone. The redzone issue can be attributed to predictable playcalling and just running up the middle for no gain. This was a Garrett issue and hopefully a changing of the guard can fix some of that.

Marinelli's defense had to go. It was filled with undersized linemen and was suspect to the run. Nolan's defense was a joke and I'm glad that his gone. McCarthy isn't a bad coach. He is better than Garrett in leaps and bounds. I peeved that he hired his friend Nolan. Wish he didn't do that.
