Kelvin Joseph has been unimpressive

What are you talking about? Diggs was a stud before he got injured. He was the highest rated CB on the team as a rookie.

I'm sorry, but that's ridiculous. Diggs was a liability for at least half the season last year, and it's not like he's looked like a world beater in actual games this preseason either.

What are we basing this off of? How much David Helman is telling us he's a stud when he isn't getting beat by our #2 WR? Our corners are an absolute dumpster fire.

Not as ready as Diggs was last year? You mean Diggs on Dallas last year that got burnt over and over again, that gave up tons of TDs......

but you notice DIggs was a lot better 2nd half than 1st half, ..

1st half it was ridiculous coverage scheme had him trying to cover at line in bump run for 50 60 yards ... like he's Lester hayes .

He had 3 INTs in 11 starts as a rookie last year with ZERO training camp. He's got prototypical size for a CB and tackles. He's looked great in camp. There is no reason he can't take a big step forward this year. Our corners are young and unproven. Dumpster fire is too harsh.

Zero pre season games, zero OTA's ... we had a training camp in '20

Too many got way too excited about him this year. He's talented, but extremly raw with limited experience in college. Always thought he was a depth guy this year.

Yeah, that was a realistic expectation. I think a lot of us hoped for more because 1) Diggs was a second-rounder and started last year (nevermind, that he also got burned a lot last year) and 2) we're stuck with Brown starting otherwise.

Joseph had a few not so memorable plays throughout the preseason but he made a few as well. Gave up one big play today and was pretty blatantly interfered with. No call. Can't put that one on the kid. The talent is there. He just needs time to develop. If fans are upset because he isn't walking right into a starting gig, that's on them for having unrealistic expectations for a rookie corner.

Bad teams like the Dallas Cowboys need their second round picks to make an impact.........you don't draft guys in round 2 unless they can start on your team and this guy was a high second round pick. If you whiff on those, the team is screwed.
We also don’t seem to have good decision making in the second round with choosing players.

We have veterans. I don't mind starting Brown and Lewis (rotating Wright in as needed) while Wright and Joseph develop their play. I think they'll be fine. Wright was getting pushed off on a lot, and Joseph hasn't played much in college. I think Quinn is just the coach Joseph needs to develop him.

Brown sucks....has for 3 years...why he continues to get a pass is beyond me. And the last person I want Joseph learning from is Brown. We are gonna have to make a move.

I wouldn't want him learning from him perse, but I do want Joseph to at least get some time to develop. Maybe he can start getting more playing time against the Eagles. That team is an opponent more conducive for him gaining confidence in a regular season game as it's a team we should be more than capable of destroying.

All of the rookies looked pretty unimpressive today, except Cox. Joseph will be alright. He needs experience. He allows himself to get pushed off on those sideline routes. But he can stay with receivers if he can avoid letting them push him away. He will learn.

He even wears the same # I get nervous about watching him he reminds me of Mo Claiborne . In the vicinity of making a play but not doing it. It’s early I will give him the benefit of the doubt but I see what Quinn liked about Nashon Wright .

He has been really unimpressive in the preseason games. Hopefully he can improve but so far he looks pretty bad for a 2nd round pick.
Yeah he's been a Cowboy for all of 4 months. How could he not look like he already belongs in the ROH?

That's not saying much even the entire defense was garbage. Did you not watch Diggs get destroyed last year? Sure he got better and even made some plays but he was far from a shut down corner or a really great corner.

So he wasn't some great corner that was ready to step in and be great. I didn't say he didn't get better but its ridiculous that Diggs was some NFL ready corner that came in day 1 and dominated
