As many mistakes the Cowboys did, leaving points on the field, missing easy FG and extra point, poor run blocking by the OL, and bad calls from the refs, they still had chance and almost beat the defending champs at home. Should have beat them. That says a lot. They do have to get better on defense, get Brown out of there, more pressure from the Dline.

And Dak holding onto the ball in the 4th Qtr. for what seemed like forever.

they lost by two.

Dak took a sack and ran them out of field goal range before the half, then on the next play he ran out of bounds and stopped the clock for the bucs to get a shot at some more offense.

No one will mention this sequence I bet because it goes against the narrative which seemingly is the only thing that matters....the guy earned his money. That seems to be the only thing relevant tonight.

Dak, Oline, and receivers did their part. Run game was MIA. CeeDee and the kicker need to take it up a notch. Brown needs to go. 4 defensive TOs. TB gets his. Refs played their part. Sigh.

Maybe, but I know that Anthony Brown isn't the answer, so I'd rather see that than the same ol', same ol'.
yeah Brown was awful, it just wasn't A. Brown that was beating him...
It's bad when you play on a bad defense and it even worse when you are the worse player on that bad defense.

Credit to Tampa conditioning program: even with the time of possession against them and in what looked like a hot Florida night, the bucs D line was tenacious until the end.

He still needs to learn to throw it out of bounds in certain sack situations where he's escaped the pocket, but like Romo, both players have that mindset that as long as they have the ball in their hands, they can make a play.

You would think a big monster like Vea would be sucking wind instead of making a couple of our interior players suck on those holding calls he drew.

yeah the OL played well with the exception of the crucial holding calls, Dak was great, CeeDee just needs to concentrate more on every play. The pass game was on so the lack of run game wasn't the reason for the loss but we can't win all year without a good run game.
It's definitely obvious that Brown is way over his head.

Sure the team played better than expected. 0-1 is all that matters. No moral victories in the NFL.

Left to many points on the field, didn’t break 30. Last place week one.

Yeah the refs screwed us again.
again with the refs thing, you guys need to let that go, it is part of the game.
I think this game was a moral victory because of who they played, and where, and when and they were in it till the end.
And in case you didnt notice, dallas was not supposed to win this game , they were supposed to lose by 8 or more but played good enough to win it.
So this isnt the typical moral victory.
I was surprised dallas played so good, and dak looked good, I think the main reason they didnt win, was they had a bad game plan.
They just assumed they cant run on TB, but I think they could have , but kellen had dak throw over 50 times and that rarely will produce a win.
But overall I was surprised with how well dallas played in this game . 0-1 is meaningless, 16 other teams will also start like that.
You do realize Jimmy and Aikman are they Jones Cowboys right?
I hope the return of Martin injects some life to the run game. Dak can't throw it 50 times a game every week. I'm impressed the defense created turnovers. I'm not impressed by the special teams and I still don't like risking 88 on punt returns.

I'm mad about the OPI no call. The ref swallowed his whistle but we get two crucial holds on our last drive. Is what it is the situational calls always go against us.
I agree except on the opi, it was one call, and it was not clearly a push off. I am sure a few went dallas way too.

I really really hope Martin plays next week though. We need a run game.
It wasnt martin being out, kellen game planned to beat TB by passing. Kellen doesnt know how to use the run game, he just calls a few runs at random.

Good game.
The Cowboys went down there and really took it to 'em.

Almost grabbed a win when most of you were saying blow-out for Tampa.

Despite the D failing us again, they showed something and I'm encouraged to watch more
One member of the D was consistently failing, and it wasn't even someone with the initials JS.

The sack he took at the sideline was terrible, just toss it out of bounds and move on.

It seems to me that it's mainly non-running QBs, non-escape artists (in other words, pocket passers) who realize when a play is over for them and dump it out of bounds. Part of the product of being able to successfully run or successfully escape is the belief that you can do it in practically any situation.

Why is the offense getting the blame for a lost game when they handed it back over to the defense with a lead?

The post game meltdowns here are amazing. Amazing in the sense that grown men, who have presumably followed football for decades, demonstrate that they haven't the slightest clue of what they've just observed. Good lord, my grandma (RIP) understood the game as well.

I'll repeat this, well over half an hour later.

Some of you should just go to bed and stop embarrassing yourselves. You love the Cowboys, which I appreciate, but you just don't understand NFL football.

Because see my previous post. Clueless fans. Every time I think I've seen the dumbest take, someone else comes along with a dumber one. It's astounding.

Oh come on! Dak threw the ball 58 times. He put the team in position to win. 2 missed field goals and a missed XP proved to be the difference, along with no Zach Martin. Dak put us in position to win. We were in the lead. All the defence has to do is make ONE stop. THat's damn good for Dak, especially going against the GOAT.
Well Fur if dak takes it in for a td instead of settling for fg, good chance they win , as in driving it in for td would have also eaten the time up.
Not saying it was daks fault, this was a team loss, but I really dont see how anyone would complain about losing 31-29 to last years SB champs and goatman lol.
I was impressed, and never expected a win.

What is important is the next 4 games, dallas should win all 4 , and go into NE 4-1.
If they can beat bellichek, then they are 5-1 and looking good, and have a bye week.

Before this game I thought the chargers might beat them, but now I think Dallas will win. Have to see how chargers play 1st game though.

The ref thing is part of the game but a bad part of the game and worth mentioning, it's a great game and the the official basically ignored an obvoius call that was the basic end of the game play... make the call and let the players determine who wins, TB still might have won but at least it would have be within the rules.

There are no moral victories in professional sports, that's for little leaguers.

I agree Kellen really doesn't know how or doesn't have the patience to use the run game effectively.

Dak not being able to drive for the TD and having to settle for a FG late really wasn't his fault, it was the holding call that killed that opportunity, something we've become way to accustom to... shooting our selves in the foot, did it at the end of the first half as well.
