100 times in 10 months that is crazy. Jerry Jones and the cowboys lawyers should be looking into this crap or how did it even get that far? I mean geezus.

Smells like BS someplace....Collins is upto something......it looks like a duck and quack likes a duck....probably a duck.....

Best thing Collins can do is come clean with what is happening....his agent and media people are making him look like an idiot drug abuser

Did I read that right...TESTED 10times a MONTH.....for 18 MONTHS that's like a 180 piss test.....OUTRAGIOUS...someone is stretching the truth someplace.....even if he got tested 10times in 18months...thats a lot......usually means you in the substance abuse program......

Collins has been tested roughly 10 times a month over the past 18 months, and, according to sources, has not tested positive for marijuana once between Oct. 21, 2020 and Aug. 11, 2021

Still, 10 times a month for 18 months sound too long for any probationary period.

If I am not mistaken cocaine and the likes generally last about 72 hours in your system. Not saying that is what this is all about, but if he did, then that would be a reasonable excuse for that many tests a month. Only thing I can think of. I mean, even IF weed was still illegal in the NFL, you could easily to 2 a month and ensure there is no way to miss them using it.

1.5 Intervention Stages
1.5.1 Stage One
Testing: In Stage One, the Medical Director may, in his discretion, require a Player to submit to testing for Substances of Abuse as often as is required to evaluate the Player adequately...
(c) Discipline
If the Medical Director, after consultation with the Medical Advisor, determines that a Player in Stage One has failed to cooperate with the evaluation process or fails to comply with his Treatment Plan, the NFL Management Council and the NFLPA shall be notified and the Player will be subject to a fine equal to two-seventeenths (2/17) of the Paragraph 5 amount in his NFL Contract, and he will be advanced to Stage Two...

1.5.2 Stage Two
Testing: All Players in Stage Two will be subject to unannounced testing subject to the terms of this Policy. At the sole discretion of the Medical Advisor, a Player may or may not be tested; however, if he is tested, he may not be tested more than ten (10) times during any calendar month.
(b) Duration
A Player will remain in Stage Two until such time as he is discharged by the Medical Director following assessment and determination. Such determination shall be based on the Medical Director’s professional judgment regarding the Player’s compliance with the Program, clinical progress and negative testing record.
(c) Discipline
A Player in Stage Two who violates the Policy will be subject to discipline by the Commissioner as set forth below:
Failure to Cooperate with Testing or Clinical Care
1st Violation: 1-week’s salary
2nd Violation: 2-weeks’ salary
3rd Violation: 3-weeks’ salary
4th Violation: 3-game suspension
5th Violation: 4-game suspension
6th Violation: 8-game suspension

7th Violation: banishment for an indefinite period of at least one calendar year

Stage Two players can be tested up to ten times per month. It may seem excessive to anyone other than the player and Medical Advisor but it is policy.

My question is where did the FIVE game suspension come from? Or has Collins' suspension since been clarified as either a 4-game or 8-game suspension? Those are the only discipline tiers for suspension above and below a "5-game suspension."

Collins has been cited seven times for "failure to appear" for testing. The NFL, in its decision to suspend Collins, came to the conclusion that those seven failures constituted grounds for a suspension.

Cowboys' La'el Collins hopeful suspension could be lifted, continues to fight for further appeal (msn.com)
Normally I would say missing a test would be an indication of “guilt” but 180 tests? 7 tests in that span would be about 4% of the tests. That’s pretty weak.

If fans pay full price for pre season games, that means the nfl considers that to be just as important as the regular season, and he tested positive on August 11 why wasn’t he suspended for pre season games? If they don’t consider the pre season games to be as valuable - I imagine a decent lawyer could sue them because they charge the same amount.

I'm guessing that the violations are missed tests and not positive tests. It sounds like he missed 7 tests and maybe 2 of them were considered legit? Still, did they skip 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th violations? I don't remember hearing about those.

only thing he's guilty of is being a Dallas Cowboy.
with this empty-suited swamp-hagg as commish...thats enuff.
what a joke.
You can thank Goodell for the harassment. Jerry stood up to him one time and the team will pay for it until Goodell retires.

It is strange how the suspension does not match policy discipline criteria.

Thought they relaxed the rule on pot use? He must have been on some other substance to get a 5 game suspension.
i guess not for those already in the program..but i agree it should be from the new rule on nothing retroactive. If so that's not fair..

WJHY DOES IT SEEM THE DCs have different set of rules to follow? getting tiresome

I suspect that the 4 game suspension became a 5 game suspension in the 17 game season.

This means that Randy Gregory for years has been given crap from the cowboys fanbase for using and it turns out Collins appears to be just as bad. The guy is always hurt so he probably just does what he wants when he is on ir.

And the bigger issue, The owner knows this stuff and keeps rewarding them with contracts. He basically approves of the behavior of these guys. Why would they ever stop?
