I get. Zeke is a great blocker and we're lucky to have a RB that can block as well as him, but he's being paid to a good runner of the football. If we wanted another blocker than we could have used his money for offensive line help.

It just seems like we have the most sensitive group of guys in the NFL. It seems they're babied so much within the organization that any bit of outside criticism just hurts them to the core.
No he is being paid to be a good running back and all that entails. Running, blocking, and receiving. He did his job and didn't cry about touches. Not sure how you found a way to complain about that.

It just seems we have some of the most sensitive group of "fans" in the NFL.

I’m a critic of Zeke as a runner but I can’t blame him for how he was utilized last week.

I actually saw it as a good sign the Cowboys are willing to be dynamic rather than force a square peg through a round hole.

So, you're giving the guy credit for doing 1 out of his 3 job duties?

Expect better.

Zeke did what his TEAM asked him to do to win. I hate this whole society of where guys are judged based on fantasy stats. I dont' care what Jerry paid him. Judge Jerry for how Zeke is paid. At the end of the day I expect Zeke to be better but he didn't get enough carries to even show what he could do to begin with because him getting more carries wasn't in the best interest if this team wanted to win that game.

Bingo.. Apparently people wanted Zeke to average 10 yards per carry on Thursday night because that's the only way he was going to get over 100 yards on 11 carries. The guy doesn't call the plays and he can't hand himself the ball. The Cowboys have clearly undergone a shift in how they want to play offense over the past three seasons. That's not Zeke's fault. If people want to bang on Jerry Jones for signing a guy we're apparently no longer going to use that's fair. But aiming your derision at Zeke is simply misguided. He would gladly accept 25 carries a game if they give it to him. He also gladly picked up 15-20 blitzers last Thursday night. I appreciate that in a football player.. A lot of what you are asked to do is not sexy.. but it is no less important.

Zeke has actually had 14 games where he's gotten under 15 carries. He's had 2 games where he had less than 11.

We're 3-11 in those games.

Zeke also was having issues holding on to the ball and again a defense that was seldom stopping anyone. I think this coming game Zeke will get ample opportunity vs Chargers run defense. Chargers have a good pass rush lead by Bosa and I would think Cowboys game plan will involved a lot of run plays to help slow down that pass rush. However a big key is the defense can't allow Chargers offense moving the ball at will and putting up a lot of points

I agree. I am just happy we have a coaching staff that is finally attacking the other teams weakness as opposed to doing the same thing every week.

It’s crazy to over pay a RB in today’s NFL, especially with two years left in rookie deal. Then it’s even crazier to hire a staff that is pass happy and poor at the run game(blocking scheme and play designs, including pass routes for RB). Zeke looks to be a little quicker and got better at end of last year with turnovers. I hope the staff and Dak understand the importance of having a run game, then play action will be even better. My personal opinion is Zeke’s style of play doesn’t fit Moore’s style of offense.

Sure, if they care.

Zeke just acts like a hippy that's just happy to be there.

So is it now your contention that a guy would prefer to repeatedly step in front of 250-300 pound men coming at him with a head of steam with no choice but to stand there and absorb the hits as opposed to having the ball and not only have a chance to avoid the hit but also to get the glory of totin the rock and possibly scoring touchdowns? If you truly believe that then I am now going to question YOUR football IQ.

They overpaid Zeke because he is a leader of this team. He and Dak. I think the organization felt the need to keep them together and keep Dak happy in that regard.

People put themselves in MUCH LESS danger for MUCH LESS money than what Zeke is doing. Let's not act like he's some kind of hero or something because he's a padded guy blocking other padded guys playing a game.

I have been saying this since Moore became the play caller. Nearly all of his runs are out of shotgun and between the A and B gap. This simply does not suit a downhill runner such as Zeke. Zeke is more Emmitt-like while this offense favors more of the Barry type. If we're not going to put Zeke deep in the I and let him attack the line of scrimmage downhill we are NOT going to get maximum production out of him. And if that's the case we need to trade him to someone who runs the power style running offense we drafted him for. It's not him.. it's us..
