No doubt.. most single guys get more... um.. you know.. than married guys.. Especially RICH single guys.. I seriously doubt Dak spends a minute being "lonely." And a 3 million dollar house on his salary is definitely going small. My house cost 3X my salary.. His cost 1/12th of his.. I think he was pretty smart with his money on that deal.
, Are you truly sure about that lol

Again take out a 30 year mortgage when you first buy a house. Take your income tax return and make at least one extra principal payment every single year. You will turn that 30 year mortgage into a 17 year mortgage. Never take out a 15 year mortgage you’ll get burned.

I can’t believe that people still take a 15 year mortgages. Take it out for 30 years make an extra principal payment a year and you turn it to 17 years
My last 12 or so properties have all been cash..I don't like the closing costs or the interest....I could own more properties if I financed, but I'm good with a little less and zero debt.

I would. I love to have a big house....I don't much care about cars, but a big house, big ranch, even if single I would buy one....
I’m military. I live with a vacuum in my hand. I have to have the whole House spotless. Not a good thing but it is. That’s the first thing I thought of was 20 rooms to clean. Eight is bad enough

I should’ve realized, every state is different. Who has closing costs, who doesn’t. So many different interest rate throughout the country. You would think it would be more uniform, but it isn’t even close. My house is paid for. But again I’m 60 years old. It should be. Life is good my cowboy brother I can’t complain

And you will pay a higher interest rate on that 17 year mortgage. People take out 15 year mortgages to get a lower interest rate. You just have to be able to afford the higher monthly payment.

Property taxes are one of the few areas where Texas stinks though.. I pay the same property taxes on my $400,000 house here in Texas that I paid on my $1.2 million house in California.

But they’re both probably the same sq ft and lot size? LOL

Born in Texas, and I still miss those housing prices.

But those lower interest rates don’t match. The higher rate you’re actually paying monthly. And you can still get lower rates at 30 years. Especially now. You really have to know what you’re doing before you go to the bank

It’s not a 17 year rate. It’s a 30 year rate that you turn into 17 years. That extra principal payment knocks it down 13 years. That’s insane if you can do it

Someone just said it’s cheaper in Texas. I think we pay the most in New England. 3800. For $600,000 home. I love my house I wouldn’t change it for the world. I am thinking of getting a second in Maine

Just because he has a mansion. Does it mean his house is in better shape than mine. No absolutely not. You have to love when you live.

By doing what you are saying, you are paying a 30 year mortgage interest rate, which is higher than a 15 year mortgage rate, for 17 years. Versus paying a lower interest rate for 15 years.

Let's be honest, dude doesn't need a mansion. Try....overkill.

Married man bunch of kids, ok ok...mansion.

My neighbors house is very similar 10k Sq ft. My neighbors are an 80+ couple with no kids. My neighborhood has minimum 4500sq ft homes and ranges up to 12k sq ft. was originally planned as an empty Nestor community...people like their space regardless if they're single, married have a big family, whatever.

BTW my house is on the lower side of the sq ft so not a brag post.... just making a point that big homes aren't necessarily reserved for big families.

No it’s the same rate at least in New England. They both like 2%. And even if it isn’t. Are you still paying so much more almost double at the 15 year rate. Take out the 30 year mortgage and turn it into 17 years. You’ll pay so much less a month on top of it. Banks don’t tell you this . You’ll take 13 years off your mortgage. The interest rate is insignificant
