The powers that be trying to zero in on a very small % football fans, most are way beyond hip hop.

And the NFL knows this....

For NFL the average fan age is 47 and for hockey it's 50. The average NBA fan is 37 years old who views on TV, the average of the fan who visits the game is 36. The average income of a sports fan is about $95k a year.
True, but the artists’ agenda in a certain area is a dominating factor these days.

Nowdays, big TV “events” are merely platforms to advance certain agendas. Lots of propaganda to tweak perceptions…

The majority (more than 50%) of long time football fans (over 35) prefer rock or old school country for halftime shows. That said, they’d watch the game if they had an old man pooping, and the NFL knows that. They want the widest audience po$$ible, so they put on the latest trendy CRAP, add big movie trailers and funny commercials and giveaways, and put new episodes of the highest rated TV shows at each end to maximize the “EVENT”!

I've been a sports fan all of my life and knew a ton of sports fans. Of all of the people I know and have known, none of the sports fans made 95k a year. Of the few people that I know that do make that or more, including my wife, aren't sports fans. Maybe I'm just hanging around with the wrong crowd?

"Sports fan," was probably the wrong choice of words. How about those attending the games? You think people traveling to games are making less than 95K. Ive been to the Chargers, Eagles, and Giants games this season. I live in Ca. WE are coming to the Raider game and the following week to the Saints game. You think fans making 70k are doing that?

The older we get, on avg, the more you make. That 30s crowd is just getting started in life and most cant spend what it takes to go to multiple games in a season.

I personally have no problem with these rappers. What I have is that the same people that will applaud having snoop dogg would blast the Stones if they got up there and played "Brown Sugar."

I half expected you might have meant that. I would agree.

I can't even post a lot of the stuff those guys record here.

This really is stupid.

Let's be honest most that crowd will be well to do older white folks.

What is wrong with having good solid entertainers like Willie Nelson and Dolly Parton doing the halftime show? I don't know any of those names except Snoop Dog and I thought he retired.

Not sure how to do what? The crowd at the stadium is a tiny FRACTION of the audience. I’m talking about TV viewers, and the majority of football addicts watching at home would rather have rock or old country. The NFL is trying to draw more casual fans with crap like JLo and Cardi B and rappers.

Yes I agree the home audience would prefer good music. And the stadium crowd won't be rapper fans so why are they doing this?

They should have added Missy Elliott to that.

I'm not sure Dr. Dre has produced a major hit for Missy. Every other artist on the lineup has at least 1 major hit that was produced by Dre.

Prediction: Mary J. Blige opens the show with Family Affair. Pretty sure that has to be her biggest Dr. Dre production.

Essentially, this is the Dr. Dre show, and it makes sense because the SB is in LA. It's going to be nothing but classics, and I'm a bit pissed that I don't want to spend enough to get there. It could be the last time you'll ever see Snoop, Dre, Eminem, and Kendrick on stage at the same time. If you are a fan of the genre, this is probably the best halftime show ever. If you aren't, I'll guess you'll have to be dissatisfied like normal.
