I seen that but don't see how that is the reason he does it. I think someone needs to ask him.

Of course it's speculative without him expressly telling us why he does it, but the context of the rap meaning and him just besting his opponent along with the generational alignment with the rap genre, I believe it's the most compelling explanation of the gesture..especially compared to the other suggestions mentioned in this thread.

I read somewhere that the nose wipe is some gang sign. Seems ridiculous...but what the heck do I know. Here's an excerpt from the Urban Dictionary:
Wipe your nose
This is a gang term. It is placing your index finger below the nose signifying the other members that their opponent is near by. They could be facing the person that is being flagged.
