This will be a tough game. All about getting Cousins out of his game.

keys will be.

Stop the run, Cook is the best RB the defense has seen so far. (Barkley was still not himself, and the Vikings offense much better rounded than the NYG obviously, as well as SD)
Then as said, get too Cousins, we will need sacks this game, not just pressures.
Our run game must work, I think this needs to be TOP control game.
Get a 2 score lead, and keep it. make them one dimensional late in the game.

We faced a supposedly tough defense and offense in TB, so we should be able to handle this one also.

I definitely expect a shootout. Our defense hasn’t consistently stopped any really good offenses yet. And the Vikings certainly have one.

I think our defense is performing better than people think. Even if you take the turnovers away. They aren’t a dominant defense by any means, but when the game is close, they seem to be performing very well. Aside from the TB game, I think they’ve done a good job. The Vikings will be a very big test for them. A lot of the yards this team has given up has been in garbage time. Especially vs Philly, Carolina, and New York. The Pats also didn’t do a ton offensively. Let’s see how they do this week.

Cousins will Cousins and throw 1 or 2 untimely INTs. The Vikings had a good offense last year and Dallas beat them with a make shift OL and Dalton. Dak is great against the blitz and the Vikings are not good at stopping the run. I would expect to see a lot of Zeke and Tony running the ball and a lot of screen variations to the RBs, WRs and TEs. Dak will add in a couple long TDs and passes to stretch the defense.

Don’t let the stat nerds see you saying that.

You must throw out all common sense and bow down to the all mighty black and white statistic.

I love how each game is Dallas toughest yet.
I love how each opponent is better than advertised.
I love how each game exacerbates every Dallas weakness.
I love the "We better not take them lightly" mantra, before each game.
I love the better players Dallas face each week that have super powers.
I love the subtly disguised, but similar threads pronouncing this weeks loss.
I love the Zone.

Yeah I get people hedging bets so they don't get disappointed. This game can go either way. Vikings are a better defense and worse offense than the cowboys and probably more conservative. They are also coming off the bye I believe, so the rust factor makes no sense.

Either team can beat the other - the one who plays the most prepared, the most aggressively and the least mistakes wins.

Vikings have a not so great offensive line. That’s the only thing keeping me from thinking their running game has its way with Dallas’ defense.
Exactly. The disadvantage we have against their WR's can be negated by RG94, MP11, Osa, and the rest of our young, hungry group of DOGS on that D-Line ready to FEAST. Good luck Kurt Cousins (as i've come to known him as by living here in DC, where ppl absolutely despised Cousins and called him Kurt out of disrespect).

I could care less what people are saying. I’m confident in Dallas this year. It’s just unrealistic to win every NFL game.

Outside of a massive injury Dallas is going to be as good as any team in football come playoff time whether we win or lose to Minnesota.

I don't disagree having said that I think Cowboys can and will win this game. If this game was Minn vs GB who would you pick to win? of vs Tampa Bay? I know Minn capable of winning but I think Cowboys come out of the bye ready to go.

The more I think on this one, the more I don't like the matchup.

We are better than they are overall, but this may be a tough spot.

I'm concerned about a little offensive rust after the bye, and we are still to where we need to outscore everyone to win.

Yep, and it wouldn't be the first time, at least under a Garrett team.

But then again, I thought for sure they'd lose to New England, and they didn't. I can see an L here coming off a bye, but I have a little more faith than I used to under Garrett.

Cousins has been sacked the 3rd least in the NFL this year. so let's not get ahead of ourselves.

To be fair, I'll trust statistic over "I think" any day.

That’s fine but it will get you into trouble if you think a game like Philadelphia that their pass game was actually as effective as the stats say it was.

Or if you actually think we have a top 5 run defense right now and ignore that we’re blowing teams out and they abandon the run.

I can’t do that but if y’all can be my guest.

I love our defense. It’s full of playmakers who make plays and play well when the game is close.

Just keeping with tradition. This is gonna be our biggest test,.

Vikings losses are to Arizona, Bengals and Browns.
Loss to Browns by 7
Loss to Bengals by 3
Loss to Arizona by 1.

Their wins were close too.

3rd in first downs
4th yards average rushing
4th in yards

I think they lead in big plays too and we play there. Gonna be a close game.
Weird, I got a bookmarked post somewhere with you saying the same thing about the Carolina game ...:omg:

The Vikings are a talented team. I want our defense to put a lot of pressure on Cousins and get some turnovers. If we do that, I think we'll win.

Oh if I’m betting my money is definitely on Dallas for sure but its nearly a coin flip of a game.

They played some very tough teams.

yes they beat the 2-5 Seahaws, Lions 0-7 and the 3-4 panthers. Playing in a close game and losing as we all know is still losing. Cowboys played some close games last season and still lost.
I think Minn is a good team but I refuse to down play the Cowboys as some lower rung team. This Cowboys team is good and this team is very capable of going out and destroying the Vikes. We have played some games where the final score was closer than the actual game was. For me I'm done with down playing the Cowboys, this is a damn good team capable of beating any team in their way.

I give Minn credit and respect but I think Cowboys are the better team and will go out and prove it Sunday Night.

Definitely. I often wrestle with trying to realize that this isn't a Garrett team, yet I sort of expect it to perform that way for some reason.

Maybe the ten years of torture is tough to shake lol.

That aside I'm concerned about Cook and the run game vs our front seven. I've been saying all year if a team decides to stick by the run we will struggle with them.

This could be that week. The NFC is so strong, and we cant really afford another conference loss if we want January success.

At this point we need an NFCGC appearance at a minimum to prove the Garrett stench is truly behind us.
