Biggest takeaway from yesterday's loss, wasn't Dak being totally off after missing a few weeks, but rather our run defense. The defense just couldn't stop the run and rarely did the Broncos be forced into obvious passing situations. Sound familiar? That was last year's defense in a put nut shell and we can no longer put all the blame on Jaylon Smith. From top to bottom, even Parsons, they all struggled in this area. Tackling was dreadful. This is the biggest issue they must fix moving forward.

DT has been a chronic problem yet they refuse to address.

I agree with the premise we still need help at DT but to say they refuse to address it is a lie. They did bring in free agents as well as draft 2 DT's. Yes they still need better play but they did try to bring in help.

When Jerry invests assets on the offensive side of the ball -- big contracts for the QB (Dak), RB (Elliot), WR (Cooper), and OL (Martin, Collins, and Smith) -- the return on that investment ought to be much greater than the defensive side of the ball.

Yea, the defense sucks--particularly the run D, and stupid penalties.
However, the defense has a bunch of castoffs, 1st and 2nd year players, and a new D-coordinator.

But, when you construct a team, and distribute a tremendous and an overabundance amount of resources/contracts on the offense, that part of the team must carry the weight.

To have 0 points at home into the late 4th quarter is unacceptable, a failure of the offense, play-calling, & misplaces the rationale for the embarrassing loss.

That's on coaching.
Both. Execution was horrible. Amari coopers drop while wide open?. Pollard drop? The offense line I’ll put on coaching, Steele was fine on the right side. Collins needs to be on the left next week, Dak was way off. Defense was on coaching and half assed effort

I don’t even know if it’s effort….they were randomaly making plays especially to start the game…..Odigizuwha was dominated starting off.

Not hear to make excuses, not think that early start affected them as well. Stopping the run is all about everyone doing their job, outside containment was bad, gap control was bad, tackling was terrible from everybody including the likes of Parsons and Kearse.

It was the biggest issue in terms of trends. Someone finally forced our hand at consistent run defense and we failed. That, and long passes again. Just got to hope the offense fixes its issues and hope Dak is just shaking off rust. If he isn't 100%, let him rest dang it.

Think Dak has more to do with rust then injury. As for the defense, if you struggle against the run, it opens up the passing game as you need to commit more players near the line of scimmage.

ODiggy was a solid pick. I like him. Gallimore should help when he gets back. I have no idea where Hill is. A wasted pick. The FAs? How much did they spend on those guys? They are dumpster diving FAs. They haven’t had a professional run stopper in years and years.

Im concerned that it wasnt Dak being rusty. After all he played well in his first game back against Tampa. I agree that this defense is still soft in the middle and tackling will be the undoing against playoff teams.
