Historically, the Eagles play their best when everyone leaves them for dead. "Put a fork in them" is their rallying call.

The Eagles have a two game winning streak going into the next two games against the morbid Giants and Jets. Then comes their bye week.

After their bye week comes the last four games of their regular season, all against division rivals.

They end the season against the Dallas Cowboys in Philadelphia....a week after the Cowboys have played the Cardinals.

A loss by the Cowboys to the Raiders or Saints, one loss to the Washington Unnamed, a loss to the Cardinals combined with an Eagles run on the Giants twice, Washington twice and the Jets........does any of this seem unrealistic?

The Eagles has been a team that almost always surges late in the season. It is entirely possible that a 10-6 Eagles team hosts a 10-6 Cowboys team in a game #17 to determine the division champion.

We all know the typical outcome of such a game.

The Cowboys must avoid this scenario at all costs by creating their own end of season surge.

Fake news. Dak is the leader.

Football is full of parody - it’s one of the most unsafe things to bet on. There are very few trends! What are you talking about?

There are tons of trends out there ...tons!

Here is just one

Your yearly reminder that Andy Reid has a great record after the bye

Andy Reid is 17-3 in his career after bye weeks in the regular season, 4-2 with the Chiefs.

Oh Good Lord! If your sphincter is starting to contract thinking about the Eagles and their pretty awful team you should probably quit being a Cowboys fan.

I’ve seen a million and 1 asinine things on this board. This idea that the NFC East crown is in doubt is amongst the dumbest I’ve ever seen
If we lose to the Raiders and Saints not only will doubt be present but throw in fear and nausea!

I hope they make it and we play them in the first playoff game. But they won’t, I won’t be surprised if the giants beat them this Sunday. The Giants will be fired up now that Garrett got fired.

This forum also had the opinion that the Eagles were going to easily dominate the division for the next 10 years because they had Wentz as their QB.

Which is why you can’t put much weight into what’s posted here. There were those who wanted to trade the farm to move up and draft Wentz.

Most likely true, but never underestimate the Cowboys' super power of tripping over their own shoe laces to the point of losing the race.

I'll give you that but we base all of it on a history that hasn't happened with this roster. We've had so much turn over but keep painting these guys into the same corner we did with Romo, Witten, Dez ect. This is a different team and let's hope against hope they don't follow the same narrative just because they wear the star.

Surely we aren't that cursed right? Personally I still think we have dawgs on this team and they won't allow that to happen. I think they beat the Raiders then get some key players back and win 5 straight before squaring off with the Cardinals. I'm not buying all the recipe BS.

If the Eagles catch the Cowboys, then the Cowboys are doing a lot of losing. Then they're not really contenders. At which point I won't care. Unlike winning the division in 2014. Or that 1993 game against the Giants.

Yeah and if we lose every single game the rest of the season we won’t win the division

On this same date in 2008 the Cowboys were 7-4 while the Eagles were 5-5-1.

By December 20th, the 9-6 Cowboys were playing the 8-6-1 Eagles in game #16 for the division title.

Eagles 44 Cowboys 6....The Eagles went all the way to teh NFC championship game before losing to the Cardinals.

In 2006 the Cowboys are, once again, 7-4. The Eagles are 5-6.

By the time the Cowboys play the Eagles in game #15, they are 9-5. the Eagles are 8-6.

Eagles 23 Cowboys 7. Eagles get the tiebreaker and division crown but it doesn't matter because the Cowboys lost game #16.

I'm sure the Cowboys have gone over this and understand how the Eagles are still dangerous. It's not because those years are related to some trend, curse, or stigma. It's because those years demonstrate that it can happen.

They beat the Saints without Armstead, Ramcyck, Peat and Kamara and with Simien as the QB. I’ll wait for that scenario to transpire before I worry about it. As of now I ain’t too impressed!
