Yes I want a receiver to catch a ball that goes between his hands. I'm not sure why this is even a question. He stopped and was able to position his hands in front of the ball. He just whiffed on it. Again.. bad throw.. but catchable.. Anybody who has ever played receiver at any level will tell you that ball should be caught. Again, not easy.. but not impossible. If he had not gotten his hands in front I might be fine with saying it was uncatchable.. But as it was, he got his hands under it but did not close them as the ball got to him.. So it went right through. Yes the ball was hummed in there.. but again.. NFL.. professional pass catcher.. Catch the ball. The QB was running for his life, again and had a 300 pound guy bearing down on him. Sometimes that will cause the throw to be off target.. They have statistics for such things.. In those instances the receiver has to help his QB out. Especially the ones who have 5 drops in the last 4 games.. That guy should feel like he owes the QB a couple of spectacular catches..

Forget it...you are a one way street, a right fighter. I'm almost sure that YOU would have caught that ball...hell yeah!

I mean he completed 68% of his passes...where most of them just great catches?

Most of those are open receivers (running backs, short routes), Dak is not very good at hitting receivers in motion or anticipating the break. Check how many of those passes completed were under 5 yards before additional yards.

Look at the picture, Brown actually had the brakes on wit his right foot! lol
The thing is this is a still picture and doesn't account for momentum. He did not freeze in place the way a still picture can look. And even though it's a still picture, in this case there is evidence he couldn't stop because although he was trying, the black beads in the turf trailing both his feet show he was skidding.

I know...but, from what I hear, he should have still caught it...you know, pro player and all. Maybe he needs to be cut?

Except he did not stop. He was trying to stop, but a receiver doesn't just stop on a dime when running. His momentum was clearly still carrying him away from the ball. A catch may not have been flat out impossible, but it was not a reasonable expectation. This particular play was clearly on Dak.

This is part of the problem with "validity." The ball did hit the ground.. but only after it went through Brown's hands..

I'm sorry if offends people who didn't see it live as I did. I am perfectly capable of acknowledging that it was indeed a poor throw but it was not "in the ground" and it was not "uncatchable." It hit Brown between the hands which he didn't bring together fast enough. The ball was probably too hot in addition to being behind so that certainly contributed to it being incomplete. But this repeated brain dead narrative that the ball landed at his feet or some such is just idiotic. It was a bad play, both players involved need to be better. Period.

I was not referencing any particular throw, just trying to make a point.

Just for the record, I would grade this particular throw as a very bad throw. Should have been an easy completion at most any level but certainly in the NFL.

So he had a 7.9 ave on 32 pass comps, and you think most of the 32 were under 5 yards? Again was it his best game..no, was it his worste no not even of the last 3 weeks in which he did have 2 of his worste games in his career. Im not breaking out the numbers to disprove the "Dink and Dunk" thing againits been done 100's of times...if thats what you see, then thats what you see.

Yes how many games have our weapons missed? and again the conversation was about your statement. Which had nothing in it about winning.
Here's a list of QBs that I believe would have the Cowboys at 7-4 or better this season:

Brady
Mahomes
Rodgers
Herbert
Murray
Wilson
Jackson
Cousins
Carr
Stafford
Allen
Jones
Burrow
Wentz

The point is Dak is nothing special.

How fast do you think he was running and how fast do you think the ball was traveling towards him? Maybe in a parallel universe he could freez in time to catch that ball. lol

How many has Gallup played in?

Collectively Godwin, Evans, Brown and Gronk have played in 33 games
Collectively Cooper, Lamb, Gallup and Schultz have played in 34 games.

Not much difference.
I still don't see the point here?

Brady and Dak both have good players around them. I am not disputing that. I never disputed that. I just said that a lot of QBs would be good with the weapons Dak has. I never even bought up Brady.

awsome..not at all answering the question I asked...if he and Brady have the same weapons and Dak is nothing special why are the 2 offenses equal?

I certainly would not disagree that it was a bad throw.. However I will also not let a receiver off the hook for letting a ball go through his hands. Again, both things can be equally true.. Receivers catch poorly thrown balls 200 times a week in the NFL. This one certainly would have been a good catch.... but well short of a GREAT catch. Dak rushed the throw because he saw #92 coming. I don't know if he thought he was going to come sack him or if he was just making sure he couldn't get his hands up and deflect it. But whatever the reason he rushed it and the ball died on its way to Brown.. I apologize if you weren't referring to that throw as several others have posted that the ball was thrown at his feet or into the ground which is plainly untrue. We can call it a bad throw without exaggerating to make it sound worse than it was. At least I can..

What does that matter at all?

The offense aren't equal. The difference is one of them has the GOAT at QB and the other has an average QB. You're blinded by stats.
