Recent offensive struggles are due to subpar blocking and failure to establish a consistent running game. I don't think the blocking element will improve drastically if we continue to let opposing teams stack the box, but need to call plays that stretches the defensive out more. Yes missing Cooper and Lamb has hurt, but they were both there for the Denver game.

Defensively, this is a developing defense that was historically bad last year. Improving to a middle of the road defense that generates more turnovers is pretty much all we could have hoped for going into the season. For them to improve further it all comes down to getting Lawrence, Gregory, and Gallimore back. Lawrence and Gregory are probably 2 of our top 4 defensive players and hurts having them out. We don't know how good Gallimore actually is, but we need help in the middle.

In your opinion , is the quarterback. Is it the defense backfield . Is it that we don’t have a great offensive line . Is it the head coach. Is it the defensive line. Is it the linebackers.
Yes

Discipline and fundamentals is not what gives the opposing QB way too much time in the pocket. That is all.
explain.... I witnessed lack of discipline all over the field at the stadium Thursday. We blew assignments all game. I will wait. TY

To me, this team lacks
-confidence
-speed (defensively, we get burnt a lot)
-we don’t finish tackling
-the ability to overcome and adjust
-physicality
-good coaching
-discipline/penalties

We’ve seen this team at it’s best and they are tough to beat, however, I think a lot of this falls on coaching overall. The physicality needs to be taught and emphasized. The ability to finish a tackle needs to be emphasized. Some of our players on defense get burned weekly, and some of our offensive players look hobbled and slow with a select few being exempt. The worst part is the ability to adjust and adhere. When confidence is low, no coach or player does anything to get angry or hype up. When a player is limited, no game plan is made to help fix that limitation. I’m going to use Sean McVay as an example. When Goff was with the Rams, he brought Goff to the Super Bowl despite Goff not really being that well of a QB. He fixed his limitations to the best of his ability. McCarthy or someone on the coaching staff needs to do the same. But alas, he is lazy and will not. Lafleur does the same with the Packers. Good coaches work with what they have. Bad coaches like Garrett and McCarthy do not. In addition to that, the penalties are ghastly. I know some are a bit iffy, but I’ve never seen a team draw so many penalties. This has to stop. You’d think McCarthy would emphasize this but it’s gotten worse over the weeks which tells me all I need to know.
Confidence, totally agree

Nothing.

How the game unfolds early is what holds us back.

Dak is a great front runner. When things go well he plays elite football. When everything isn’t smooth and we don’t have a lead our offense stinks.

We need to get back to running more and Tony Pollard needs a bigger role on this team going forward.

Let Zeke be 2007 Marion Barber. Bring him in after the offense gets going. Anytime before that is a wasted play.
I agree. It’s how the first two drives go. We haven’t had an early Lead in a while . It totally help dictate

A game changing talent at DL. heck even a decent player at DL would suffice for me. What we have wont cut it imo.

A QB that can elevate the team even when injuries impact the team and doesn't need everything to be perfect around him to flourish instead of being a system QB.
A system QB? What system is that? lol

I'm also wondering how being 5th in the NFL in passer rating and leading an offense that is 1st in the NFL in yardage and 2nd in the NFL in scoring equates to the QB not playing well when things aren't perfect.

Dak isn't perfect. Certainly not Brady or Rodgers. Or Mahomes either. But what you are looking for? By your criteria does a QB have to be Brady, Rogers or Mahomes to cut it as a quality NFL player?
