It’s really hard to have conspiracies that involved dozens of people
The nfl makes money from gambling whether Vegas does or not
And the 3 games we didn’t cover had much more to do with how we played than the officials
The officials called some really crappy calls Thursday’s but they called them on both teams
The nfl has one revenue stream that beats them all and that’s broadcasting the games and Dallas winning drives up viewership with drives ad revenue which drives bigger tv contracts
Close games drive up revenue way more than that.

No, it really couldn’t have.

There’s no universe in which a Cowboys WR gets THAT flag to decide the game for us on a 3rd and 18 in overtime.

Michael Gallup got called for the weakest OPI you’ll EVER see..... to screw us out of a win last season.

Chris Godwin got away with the most blatant OPI you’ll EVER see...... to screw us out of a win this season.

Those weren’t accidental or random. The refs made those calls with the clear intention of screwing us over. Each of those plays single-handedly swung the win probability DRAMATICALLY against us, and they were TERRIBLE, OBVIOUS calls that any Pop Warner ref could’ve made.

When have we EVER gotten a horse**** call late in a game like that which directly led to a win?
The Godwin no call was the same ref too

When the Cowboys were winning six games in a row there were none of these conspiracy threads.

Things start to go wrong, childish fans need a reason - so they invent one. Grow up, kids. :muttley:

I think the ones that are childish are the ones who think they’ve got everything figured out. They NEED it to be Jerry’s fault or Dak’s fault, then they have someone to blame to validate their doomsday talk. Malfeasance challenges the notion of a black and white world, one they have more control over. Suck it up, Francis! Think outside the box, Sheeple!

Lot of rookies here who really don't have a clue, but,.....entertaining.

You know WHY there were fewer shouts about conspiracies? Because we weren’t losing to inferior teams because of bogus penalties!

It's just a way to control a game for control of money! First off NFL penalties are for egregious acts/penalties. Now think about this a coach could challenge a catch, a fumble a yardage mark, etc because a ref screwed up but they can't challenge a flag that the ref screwed up on. Why is that? It's so they could control the outcome of games for their gambling buddies. It has been this way forever. They let you think that they've given you options to get a play corrected but they'll never ever let you challenge penalties for a reason.
Total propaganda. Yeah the world is out to get us

Close games drive up revenue way more than that.
Close games keep viewers watching
Almost all NFL games are close
I just don’t buy the idea of conspiracies involving large numbers of people
And risking billions of dollars
If they got caught that’s a federal crime that could send them all to prison for a long time
That’s racketeering
I just don’t but officials, replay officials, people in the nfl office and all conspiring to make Vegas money
What Vegas wins or losers doesn’t effect the league so it would have to be kickbacks for the nfl to make any money off of whether Vegas wins or not
And whether teams cover or not really doesn’t effect Vegas in itself. It’s all about their exposure to that bet and most times they have their downside covered anyway
Vegas rarely loses any real money on sports betting
Their biggest loses have to do with billion dollars hotels being full or not

No one is insinuating that a group of evil, obscenely wealthy, old white guys are having secret meetings solely to screw the common man out of his money to give it to mobsters in Las Vegas. Some of us merely notice too many odd coincidences, and are wondering aloud whether the NFL (like any mega-wealthy corporation) is using rule changes and the media to mold public perceptions and insidiously affect results in an effort to maximize profits, no matter what the market is doing.

No doubt rule changes serve two porpoises
One safety
The league knows from a liability standpoint things like CTE are serious. There are financials risks they’ve already experienced
The other is entertainment value. Fans like to see scoring
But that’s are far cry from rigging games
I grew up loving baseball but the game has lost viewership because to kids today it’s boring
The nfl sees that so making scoring easier is good for keeping fans. That’s surely the reason for multiple rule changes
I know some die hard fans like a good defensive battle but the masses like scoring and they cater to the masses and there’s really nothing wrong with that
I don’t have an issue with rule changes that make the game safer even though I love a big hit myself
I don’t have a problem with offensive minded rule changes that increase scoring even though I live defense more than offense
It’s really about staying on top and not ending up like baseball has

At least we agree profits are 99.9999% of their motivation, and they’ll DESTROY anything or anyone that hinders that in any way.

I don’t think changing rules to add more scoring and fans destroys the game
Just the opposite
Lack of excitement destroys the game because it costs you fans
People don’t sit on the coach 3 hours on Sunday to be bored
That’s why there are more people lined up for the restroom of an NFL game than attend a baseball game these days
