At one point this season the Cowboys were 6-2 and Washington was 2-6. We had a 4 game lead over them. If we allow them to creep within one game of us with four to play they’re winning the NFC East and we may not even make the playoffs. If the Cowboys are a legit Super Bowl contender and are going to get back on track this season they’ll win this game. If they can’t win this game they don’t have it and their best football of the season came and went.

I haven't one problem, with confidence being expressed by Mike McCarthy!

Every HC should feel the same, whether it's us, or the WFT that's involved.

Washington fans and their players are fired up, just like they are each year!

Anyone familiar with the mindset engendered with the WFT team knows of this.

lol, they actually made a video about how beating the Cowboys is how they can "build a legacy" and have been hyping themselves and their team up for this game for 1-2 weeks. I don't know if McCarthy is going to get them more "fired up" than they already are for this game. They're already treating it like it is the most important game of the season and one of the one important games of their lifetime.

I think some fans who are already worried and afraid of the WFT, just wanted McCarthy to use coach speak to say that WFT is a good team and he knows the game against them will be tough or something like that. Or they expect him and the team to have the same thoughts that some Cowboys fans have about the Football team and for McCarthy to act like he is afraid of them or has no confidence in his players ability to beat them.

Obviously the Cowboys have to respect the WFT and not take them lightly. But at the same time, I would hope that McCarthy and the team has the belief that they are going to win on Sunday and don't share the mentality of the pessimistic Cowboys fans who are already marking this game down as a loss before it's even played. If they go in acting like they are afraid of the WFT or that they have no chance against them and believe they are going to lose before the game is even played, then they are already going to be defeated before that game is played.

JJ and BP were both notorious for speaking to the team through the media. Maybe MM was using the question he was answering to try and instill some confidence in a struggling team.

This is most teams in sports. Systems are already in place enough and the fills in can manage the game enough. Still up to the players to perform. Especially at the professional levels.

I honestly believe MM is thinking the same thing........we have to remember these coaches are well schooled in dealing with the media. Most, if not all of what they say is calculated.

This game against the 6-6 WFT isnt exactly like JImmy guaranteeing a win against the 2nd best team in the NFL at that time.... a team that was an absolute dynasty.
