I'm not sure that would have been overturned anyway. The knee and the ball being punched out looked almost at the same time. I'm guessing it would have been one of those "not enough evidence to overturn" cases.
Thats what I thought too. Too close to overturn. Did see delay of game twice on AZ and tons of holding that dont get called. No trouble calling it on dallas though

They didn't let us score but they play different up 2 scores. Dak gets no credit from for kinda almost digging out of a hole he dug himself.

Dak had a bad game and yes usually teams play more prevent defense. This game probably felt like a larger loss margin to some fans than it actually was. There were too many stalled drives with penalties early in the game. A lack of execution, and just uninspiring plays. However, as bad as that all seemed the Cowboys still had a nice opportunity in the 4th quarter to win and then Dak fumbled. There's a few individual moments that changed the course of the game, but the game was closer than it probably felt.

Dak did not play well. I don’t think anyone would say otherwise. But a lot of it was extremely poor Oline play and the total lack of any semblance of a running game.

Have to agree with you completely. Dak didn't play well. The OL played just as bad or worse, which contributes of course to all the above.
And the other issue or should I say continuing issue is all the stinking penalties.

IM pretty sure the Cardinals played to shut the running game down and force Dak to beat them with his arm.

Don’t blame the refs.

Zuerlein is the goat.

he’s been due to cost them an important game all year.

and he is the biggest Achilles’ heel heading into the playoffs.

Mystery as to why they’ve stuck with his inconsistent leg all season.

Just asking for it.

Zuerlein stunk, and the kicks he didn't miss, he nearly missed.

Ok, but here's reality - we are not / will not / and cannot get rid of Dak as our QB.
He is a QB that needs the team to be all in sync.
He is not.
They are not.
It is too cost prohibitive to get a new QB.
We better all hope he can somehow improve, because this franchise is now hitched to him, with no chance to get out for several years .....
Dak has always struggled against better defensive teams. The problem with hoping he can get better is his biggest weakness is his arm strength and accuracy and all that breaks down under pressure. Daks never going to be able to go on a playoff run. He might be able to win one game but how is he going to be 3 good defenses when he cant even beat a depleted cards defense.

Reasons why Dallas lost:
3. Zuerlein. /QUOTE]

I would place it into a possibly losing.

If you take all the other plays. The dropped passes, the dropped interception, the missed blocks, the penalties and added them up to being football. Situations where another player is actively succeeding in preventing you from making a play or doing your job.

If all those other plays stay the same, good and bad for both teams, then the simple FG miss by Zuerlein, on a distance well within his capability is a serious event that made the outcome of the game different.

If he nails the FG earlier, then Dallas' TD at 4:48 would have tied the game.

When the Cardinals take over the ball at the 4:42 mark MM would not be desperate to stop the clock until it became evident that the Cardinals were going to kick the winning FG.

Edmonds fumble at the 2:58 mark would have been a play that we could have contested with a timeout.

That would have given us the ball with more than two minutes and two timeouts. A chance to win the game.

You have to get the easy points when they present themselves. The game is a struggle, and you never know what the path of the struggle will be.

In this case we lost the ability to utilize timeouts for challenges due to being down by three points as opposed to being tied.

Not gonna get into the validity of those penalties but having just about every momentum building play on offense called back really gums up the flow for the offense. Gotta get those cleared up somehow.

When your OL isn't good enough to block without holding, they have to block BY holding.
That's the problem with this OL.

Frustrating watching them pick and choose when to make a call. The PI on Coop was blatant and it should've been first and goal.

We scored on a Gallup TD, but at what cost?

I still think it's incredible they played so clean the last few games only to get flagged over and over this week. The question is did they really play that sloppy or was it a flag happy crew? I can't imagine they changed their approach that dramatically.

This team does not adjust to officiating crews that call tight games. That has to be an emphasis going forward.

I've seen him throw with accuracy and arm strength at times...just too inconsistent to be "Elite".

His problem this year is decision making. It's always been a strength of his, but this year, he's missing open guys, dunking it off too quickly, and forcing the ball into coverage. It's uncharacteristic of Dak.

What looked depleted to me was our OL. With the exception of Martin, this OL isn't good enough to block effectively without holding.

Our OL has been an issue most of the year but because we haven't played better teams it wasn't a big deal. Now it is.
