Zuerlein’s seat isn’t hot right now because no way are the Cowboys going to make a change heading into the playoffs.

We didn’t so much bring another kicker into camp to tryout and be on-call in case Zuerlein didn’t work out.

The hubris with this franchise.
Not true. The Cowboys brought in Lirim Hajrullahu to kick the last few preseason games after the previous punter proved he couldn't do it while Zuerlein was out all of training camp and preseason due to offseason surgery.

Hajrullahu performed very well. I thought he would have been signed to the 53 man roster, but Jerry decided to listen to McCarthy, who listened to his old buddy, John "Bones" Fassel, who has a man-crush with his old boy, Greg Zuerlein.

Lirim Hajrullahu was brought back for 1 week during the season when Zuerlein was out due to covid infection. Hajrullahu didn't get any FG attempts, but he nailed all 5 of his extra points right down the middle. Plus, all 8 of his kickoffs landed deep into the endzone except for 1 that landed about 2-3 past the goal line.

The following week, Lirim Hajrullahu was cut while Greg Zuerlein was favored once again. Now we see the results.

Not during training camp.

Why not? Is there any rule or reason to make you think the Cowboys can't or won't make a change at Kicker?

Because there isn’t going to be any one more reliable that’s available in week 18. Kickers are on the street for a reason. I can’t think of any team that replaced their kicker heading into the playoffs. That would be stupid! Zuerlein has yet to miss a clutch kick. He made a game winner and made one that got us into OT. The team will bring in competition for him during the summer.

Zeurlein is a dead man walking if the owner is saying this publicly. Why is he still with the team?

Who do you suggest that’s available would be better? There’s a reason kickers are unemployed this time of year.

I know the missed FG’s are big I don’t mean to be flippant about it. It’s just frustrating to see what took place against Arizona , made getting to the big games much harder having just the one home game . Jerry should quit shooting his mouth off and just sign the checks .

You're wrong.

The Cowboys already had Lirim Hajrullahu during the Preseason and for 1 game halfway through this season, so they know he is accurate and reliable.

The Cowboys could bring Hajrullahu in for the playoffs as soon as this coming last regular season weekend finishes since the Panthers (team Hajrullahu currently is kicking for) are not making the playoffs.

Oh I don't know whose available ... I'm just saying, if the owner was talking about me, I'd be nervous to make any more mistakes. Just puts a spotlight on him now. lol

If they know he’s accurate and reliable why isn’t he their kicker now? lHe never even attempted a field goal with us. lol No team brings in a new kicker for the playoffs. Get real!

QUESTION:

Since K Lirim Hajrullahu is currently signed for this season only while kicking for the Carolina Panthers, couldn't Jerry Jones and the Cowboys sign Hajrullahu for the playoffs after this upcoming last weekend of this regular season is finished?

The Panthers are not making the playoffs, so isn't it legal for Jerry to be able to sign another team's kicker (which the Cowboys have experience with this season on a limited basis) for the playoffs that start next week?

Here is a copy of K Lirim Hajrullahu's current 1 year contract with the Panthers which expires at the end of this regular season...

Zuerlein is definitely on the hot seat going into next year but we’re stuck with him now with the playoffs coming up. The positives are he’s made a game winner and a kick to get us into OT. He’s made two must make kicks. Yes he’s missed kicks and PAT’s but nothing we can do now that would make any sense.

You know very well why Hajrullahu was let go. It's because of Bones Fassel's infatuation with Greg Zuerlein. Heck, Hajrullahu was good enough for the Cowboys to bring him back and try to hide him on the Practice Squad. Too bad the Panthers stole him from us, so clearly, the Cowboys wanted to keep Hajrullahu.

Quit acting ignorant.

Like I said earlier we can cry about missed FG’s plus the refs all night long not going change a thing. Greg Zuerlein and blind refs had nothing to do with the Cowboys inability to throw a pass to someone other then Schultz on a consistent basis or needing a stop last four mins and Kyler Murray makes the defense look like Waxahachie High School vs Allen High and Murray’s running circles with the wishbone .

I thought I saw the ghost of Darrel Royal laughing his *** off.

Understood, but the Cowboys were only down 7-0 when Zuerlein missed his FG attempt in the 1st quarter. That killed all momentum.

Hey if a missed FG first quarter when it was 3-0 not 7-0 is a momentum burner then Dak needs better pre game speeches
