Listening to a McCarthy presser

It's like hearing a lecture on ancient history without knowing one second about history. McCarthy talks for 20 or so minutes and I feel like I come out even more dumber about the team then before I went in. He mumbles on and on almost as if he's not the coach like it's somebody else's problem. Between the constant lip smacking noise. To him trying to be more comedic and likeable then being a head coach. Hey, Mike? What you gonna do about fixing your porous offense and massive penalty problem? We need to identify the problem. Then meet up to fix and solve the problem. You have to remember my time in Green Bay... We worked on this problem all the time...Yep. We really worked on it hard back then......

don't listen if it bothers you..hes not going to come out and give the world his real feelings and the issues and resolutions that would be stupid and thanks for being so self-entitled you think hes there for you..lmao,. he has mandatory responsibilities to go up and answer questions but not to answer them in way that gives away inside information and real feelings. most coaches s if they had a choice wouldn't hold press conferences or answer questions to the media, they have to, its part of their job in accordance with league rules.

I cannot imagine having to talk to the media as much as an NFL coach does without any preparation while still having to offer enough intelligent dialogue to satisfy the reporters and the fans.

The only time a head coach press conference has ever impressed me, in either a positive or negative way, is when they are first hired and if/when they have meltdowns.

All other press conferences are boring and I would be very happy if they just answered questions as succinctly as possible and then ended the press conference.

No pleasantries, no platitudes, no "How we doin' guys?", just ask real football questions, get some type of answers even if vague, then everyone leaves and its done.

This.

I'm always amazed when people expect to hear deep detailed discussion or be provided with great insight into the team and players and plans. These press conferences don't happen because coaches are eager to share everything they know, they happen because it's an obligatory part of the job. No doubt most coaches would rather just coach and not deal with this, but they are stuck with the reality that it's a business and they have to cater to the media.

You guys must of missed Tuna's and Jimmy Johnson press conferences....Pure Magic. Both Super Bowl winning coaches. Ask Jimmy about penalties or offense not moving......You'd leave knowing that...... it....is going to stop.

Parcells had a famous take on penalties. I don’t coach them, they are not on me. On the player

Believe it or not I sorta like Mike. But the guy seems like he's on Vacation versus coaching. More of a CEO then a coach... "Moore" you get that offense fixed..."no"? Well get back to me when you come up with something. I'll be in the lunch room-heard they had a great new burger......

It is strange.

I have tried to figure out what his coaching philosophy is and I have no clue. Parcells, it was about knowing every situation and being prepared. Protecting the ball and playing field position while winning all three phases.

Garrett...it was a process, it was conservative and unimaginative as hell, it was corny cliche's, it was running the football.

This guy...no idea.

Jimmy's was being physical and running the ball. Everyone knew Emmitt was getting the ball. But who stopped it?? This team has NO identity. From week to week you don't know what they'll do on offense.
