And then either give away or sell to cowboys fans at face value. When you’re a billionaire you can do whatever. Instead he wants talk a good game. Don’t complain when is 30% plus niners fans today.

All the tickets available on the secondary market are owned by either brokers or regular Janes that are STH’s like myself. The game is sold out from a box office standpoint as is every Cowboys game during the regular season. Jerry has already made his money and the money being made now is by the aforementioned people cutting a profit. Jerry can’t control who I or any other season ticket holder sells their ticket to.

Buy them from himself? Or are you suggesting Jerry go on stub hub and buy them from every single re-seller?

The issue is complicated. There’s several contributing factors.

One is the local fan base has been reduced because of the lack of success this era and resent towards our owners ways of running our most beloved franchise.

Two is business and corporations own most of the season tickets as PSL and prices have discouraged many of the long time diehards.

Three is the huge amount of migrating Americans moving in from across the country for jobs and retirement since the Great Recession bringing their fandom with them buying up tickets to see their team.

And if Jerry gave me a couple of tickets, I'd sell them to the highest bidder.....If I can get some cash for a new ride on tractor/mower.....give me the cash!!!!

When has any owner in any professional sports league ever done that before?

I have my issues with Jerry Jones. He could step down as general manager and allow a fresh independent insight into evaluate football operations finally in over three decades. As far as tickets are concerned, he could make single-game tickets much more affordable (and not just for fans he wants standing all game long  ). The latter might have a larger negative impact on the team's resell ticket market.

Those are practical expectations in my opinion. I do not consider purchasing all the tickets for a game as a practical expectation from an overall ticket revenue perspective for any owner.

If I remember correctly, there was a time back in the 1980's where either the owner at the time, Bum Bright, or someone high up in the organization bought up all remaining tickets for a few games in order to avoid television blackouts.

It has happened before...

I vaguely remember that happening and *think* other owners have sometimes done the same over the years. I do not believe that past action is exactly what the OP is proposing though.

Because Jerry Jones’ definition of “winning” is very different from Cowboys fans.
Because it’s literally impossible
You can’t control what a person does with a ticket they bought
The majority of the tickets were sold to cowboy fans, who then sold them to the highest bidder
It’s impossible to control who buys a ticket

That’s been done many times
Then you give them away and write them off
But today there is a massive secondary market and most aren’t sold by a guy hawking tickets on the corner

There was a time at Texas Stadium when local TV stations would buy up the remaining tickets to avoid local blackouts and give away the tickets.

He's not. No owner is going to care one bit who is occupying a seat, home or opposing fan, as long as the has a butt there. Every owner these days is concerned most about their income, and the thought of buying tickets to keep them from opposing fans simply isn't going to happen.

The DFW area has become a melting pot over the past 20 years, so much so that any given week the stadium could be almost completely taken over by opposing fans. For Jerry to buy up the tickets to keep them out of the hands of opposing fans would be economically stupid. I certainly wouldn't do it.
