I’m off the Dak bandwagon

I knew Dak wasn't that good but I thought he turned the corner early this year. They didn't have Nick Bosa and Dak still couldn't cash in on the game winning TD. I'm sure Pat Mahomes would've got the job done. Aaron Rodgers would've scored or Tom Brady. Even Matt Stafford.

Good job Dak for fooling the Joneses to give him that huge contract. Expect more performances like today and like the game against the Cardinals.

They have a horrible pass defense and Dak had accuracy issues as well as missing open players that Romo even called him out on.

Is it Dak, Moore, or the Oline? I see all these pass plays around the los which go nowhere. Put the ball down the field.

Dak doesn’t have the vision to stretch the field. He literally needs to see a guy wide open to attempt the throw. Which causes him to always check down.

Guys like Brady, Mahomes, Wilson will throw the ball while the receiver isn’t even looking because they know what the route will be.

Dak just doesn’t have it.

Fact: I think a lot of people either jumped off the Dak bandwagon tonight, or are weighing their options on jumping off.

I think he’s a “good” (not great) QB who really shrinks when he plays a good team. His sample size of games and his performance in such games is making it hard for an objective fan to deny it at this point.

Can we win with Dak? Yes. But he’s not going to carry us, at least in games against teams equal to the Cowboys. So if that’s the case you better re-build that offensive line so he has time to write a novel before he throws a pass.

Also, Kellen Moore shows brilliance at times but he is NOT READY to be the main play caller for the Cowboys.

Look at Daks body language. What the hell happened to that confident dude that we had for the first half of the season. Looks like he turned into someone completely different. Looked like a what a rookie would look like.

Vic Fangio happened.

Teams started doing that stack the line and drop back crap to him and he regressed.

The guy got laughed out of town when he said he had the blueprint but i guess he was right.

Of course, when you play teams with a practice squad caliber players like the Fteam, Giants and Eagles, no amounts of game plan or coaching can help.

I been saying for years that Dak only turns into a good QB when teams go prevent late in games because they show him vanilla looks and he doesn't have to make reads.

It is what it is.

It's a hopeless feeling for sure.

It's year 6 and he just is what he is at this point. He just does not have the talent to be a top QB.

There's nothing he can do about it either. He can practice, study, and do whatever he thinks will work, but there is nothing that can overcome his lack of talent.

This kind of reminds me of something that gets posted a lot.
Now don’t go into shock over this. (As in coming from me) LOL.
But remember how some bring up Tom Brady was a 6th round pick, and look at him, so Dak being a 4th round pick can do it too. I even think I mentioned it before, but not in as a serious way as others.

Any way, Dak was a what, 2 or 3 year starter in college, or was it 4. In which he got his starting role from an injury to the starter. Just as in the NFL. So teams knew what they seen and scouted.

Tom Brady was a back up for what 2 years to a very good College QB but not so much in the NFL success. I forget who that QB was.
So no team knew about what Brady could do , as he had limited action in college.
So that 4th vs. 6th really doesn’t fly.

I still think Dak is good, but he will not get to Tom level.

Best thing that happened to Dak was breaking his ankle. His flaws would have undeniably obvious and would not have received the huge contract. A small part of me believes he would be playing on a different team now.

He’s trash just like the trash the fans were throwing at him. Throwing at the refs my ***. The trash throwing kept going as the players were going on as well.

He’s a scammer like his friend Zeke and Amari. All of them scamming old man Jerry into believing they were good enough to be paid top dollar on this team. What a joke. A circus at its core.

The thing is if Dak would have came out of college as a pure pocket passer he would have never been drafted in the first place. He may not have ever been on an NFL roster.

He was drafted because he was a dual-threat QB. He was a weapon.

He has completely abandoned that now. His refusal to run the ball has made him worse. Teams used to have to respect that, but now they know he's not going to take off.

And Dallas tried to make trades for two other QB’s before drafting Dak.

I wonder if one of those trades went through and they drafted either Lynch or Cook, and neither worked out, who would our QB be. Would have they drafted another QB a few years later.

This is as good as it will ever get from Dak. Experience won't really make him a better QB - he is already in his 6th year and I just don't think there is an extra level that he can get to. He knows how to recognize blitzes and can beat them, which is a skill that a starting QB should have. But there are probably 15-20 QBs who can do that too. Once defenses start disguising coverages and looks, they know Dak can't beat them.

So congrats to Dak, he's aced Basic and Intermediate NFL QB-ing...many NFL QBs in the history of the league can't make it past one or both. But Advanced NFL QB-ing is a level that only the truly elite at the position can get to and for a lot of guys, it is simply unreachable due to physical/mental limitations (or a combo of both)

Nice critique. Spot on.

He played awful for 3 quarters and then had the nerve to call out the refs after the game

He was given two opportunities to win this game and failed on both.

Joe Burrow didn’t have much of a running game either and completely showed what Prescott isn’t….a great qb

Totally disheartening
I am about to join you.
Not playing up to that contract.

When things are going well against weak opponents, he can ball. As soon as things get a little tough, his accuracy drops even on plays he has a clean pocket, it's like the whole game goes downhill for him. He also holds the ball too long and looks skittish in the pocket. There are several QBs that could take this roster deeper into the playoffs, who would have won today, who are at home for the playoffs. I'd die to have Herbert or Burrow now.
