Another thing we wish were true, but not necessarily false: Once Jerry passes, things will get better. However, I believe Stephen is worse than his father...so most likely, more of the same ole same ole.

Stephen looks far more detached than Jerry up there in the box. And he's learned everything about GMing from his dad. That's not good. We can only hope he doesn't want the team and sells it when the old man bites it.

Jerry has done his job as GM. Just look at all of those Pro Bowlers - as if a contest including fan votes is a measure of team strength, as opposed to actually accomplishing something in the playoffs. Three playoff wins in the last 25 years is NOT Jerry doing his job. It's abject failure.

Especially when players opt out in large numbers. Back when Mike Jenkins made the pro bowl, he was the 3rd alternate.

Terence Steele is good enough to be the starting RT based on part of the 2021 season.

I don't get this. Steele shows us some potential for a few games and we are ready to cut Collins and make him our starting RT? This is Jerry-logic. Why not give him a 5 year $60 million contract too.

Let Steele compete with Collins in 2022 and let the best man win the job. We've been fooled by one year wonders before. Chaz Green looked good for a few games one year and then gave up 8 sacks in 1 game the next.

Is Steele a free agent?
If so , he is gone....

• Tyron Smith still has enough left to keep him as our starting LT. (He hasn’t played a full season since 2015 and has missed 32 games since then)

I was buying in until the Zeke jab... Zeke had the 7th most rushing yards this past season, if that isn't effective I don't know what is. That was some run! Like 750 yards and 8 TD's against the 4 best teams the NCAA had, including mighty Bama and media darling Ducks. I'll never forget Zeke giving Bama an a whuppin'.

I think us Cowboys fans were spoiled by 2016 zeke. In some ways I kinda wish Tony was QB, because I don;t think we would have used/abused zeke to get those gaudy numbers. But he raised the bar, and then never able to meet/repeat those expectations.

The last couple years...I think have been a ship show; covid, new coaches, an o-line with no real identify except retirements. injuries, and underachievement. And, in mho..and inept inexperienced OC that never seriously committed to a run game like 2016.

We're being fooled by Tony Pollard's play. He certainly does LOOK faster and freer....but we never did ask of him what we asked of Zeke...so I don;t buy it for one second. Tony did a great job in his role as #2 "change of pace".

We wont; see 2016 zeke ever again...and I am not sure what's meant by "special"....but I believe zeke is still a very good RB...we just need this offense to stop being so dam dysfunctional.....get this line fixed, design and commit to the run game...and see.

I fully disagreed about that too. Zeke is effective starting NFL RB. Our o-line and OC ....are NOT!

I do believe the Jones family prioritizes winning in their minds but they just actually don't know how. The results in the era of free agency and salary cap have been consistently inconsistent and they have been inept at becoming a dominant post season force again more often than not.

As fans, we all from time to time have to suspend logic and evidence in order to “believe”. In fact, just being a fan (aka “fanatic”) makes us vulnerable to false hopes and evidence that is contrary to our hope.

Here is a list of things we wish were true but sadly aren’t:

• The Cowboys are just victims of bad luck- this year, and the previous 25 before that. But actually, as Jimmy used to emphasize, teams make their own luck.

• Our players should be willing to take a “hometown discount”. We love the idea that a Cowboys player loves the game and the fans here enough to take less money. Pipe dream. And we should never expect a man to take less money than he could get elsewhere.

• Our front office just needs to hire the right coach- like Sean Payton- and that will fix us- since our last great playoff run we’ve already had 6 different HCs, 7 different OCs, 8 different DCs, over 70 different assistant coaches…one 1 GM. It’s more than a HC issue.

• The refs are a part of a vast NFL conspiracy to keep the Cowboys from success- Our society is always fascinated with some crazy conspiracy that helps us avoid things we don’t want to be true. The NFL can’t even define a catch or pass interference, and we’re supposed to believe they can hold a conspiracy like this together, lol? The truth is this 2021 Cowboys team was undisciplined and paid the price with penalty flags.

There are of course more than on this list. Any others?
