Take him. We need a TE who has a minimal standard of blocking. I was a fan, but grew sick of watching him kill drives with missed blocks. We can spend money better elsewhere. He had the ball funneled to him on a sliver platter.

I'm kind of in agreement. I think Schultz is a better outlet receiver than Jarwin, while Jarwin is a better downfield receiver, but the one true advantage Schultz had over Jarwin was that he was a better blocker. Teams seemed to figure out how to attack and defeat him as a blocker this year.

If we let him go in FA, though, we have to target TE somewhere in the first four rounds of the draft or pick up some team's second TE that's a better blocker than him.

TE franchise tag is the lowest one aside from ST. Easily. save 8 mill cutting Jarwin. Literally nothing to see here aside from a focus on a 2nd TE in the draft or FA
I agree. I do not see them letting Shultz leave without trying their best to keep him.

His blocking at the line definitely needs some work but he has actually made some good downfield blocks and he also has great hands for a TE and he is well liked and respected by his teammates.

Most importantly, Dak seems to trust and in some cases rely on him often.

As for Jarwin, he would sometimes make you think he was the next great WR-like TE in the league, but he keeps getting hurt over and over so it is time to move on from him.

In the NFL if you cannot rely on a player to be able to get on the field to play each week, you have to move on.

Interesting to see what Dallas thinks of Shultz. I think the Titans would be a good fit, Tannehill needs a security blanket.

Dak and the offense will really be hurting if we lose Schultz, Cooper, Wilson and Gallup. I hate the salary cap. I wish there was a salary cap for players you draft and then a FA salary cap. I wish there was some way to have a salary cap but also reward teams for drafting well.

Like Gregory for instance, we draft him, put up with his issues, bring him along personally and professionally and then he has one good year and we might lose him, then some other team reeps the reward for our patience.

A system success as a receiver, a dismal blocker, the veteran market is always inflated. After two seasons he had 13 receptions for 122 yards. No way should the Cowboys pay market value. I beleive they can address the position with the right free agent signing at a value and then also the draft.

Some of you guys are so funny.

"As I watched her turn the handle on the door to leave, I thought she didn't look as good as she used to look and her butt in that dress didn't seem to be as firm. That laugh, once so infectious and inebriating had become a cackle and there were other geese to share my nest. And she wasn't a great cook, often I had to order out because she spent so much time catering to my needs, she didn't have time to prepare a meal".

If you think this player will not be missed, think again. Yeah, he's not a great blocker but he had the best hands of all the receivers. He was dependable which is more than I can say about Cooper or Lamb. And I've got news, there are not a lot of great blockers on this team.

He can leave too.

Jarwin's salary is only 4.5mil next season, with 0.5mil of gameday suit up bonus. That's all the savings to be had. At that price, he's better than the bridge starter we'd bring in at about the same price.

Yet another position that needs to be addressed if we let him leave, how many total draft picks do we have now,,, whatever it is it wont be enough.
We need about 5 more 7th rounders.
