I guess if we can dismiss the fact that the Cowboys did virtually nothing for 59 minutes and 46 seconds of a 60 minute game, the lessen learned is to hand the ball directly to the Ref in that situation and proceed to lose the game with one more shot.

We did score points during the game but I get what you said.. Did we score points when we got the pick, I was so out of it at that point because I knew we were gonna lose.

I'm pretty sure I saw the ref deflate the ball a bit as he moved it back. He also clearly put the laces exactly opposite of the center's preference which indicates the officials are scouting the Cowboys tendencies to use against us.

Ok I know dallas bungled the last play, and they might not have scored anyway if they had 1 more play.
And they had a chance on previous possession.

But 2 things I find suspicious, that makes it look like refs were trying to help SF win.

1. the ref furthest from the spot where dak went down, was the only ref that came to spot the ball.
Is he the only one that is supposed to do that? or can other refs do that in that situation?
I think in another game someone said another ref did it.

2.the ref when he got to the ball, after dallas players did not know to let him thru lol,
but he gets to ball grabs it, then he wastes time moving it back about 8 inches lol.
Doing that meant center had to adjust backwards, so did dak and rest of players.

Mike peria sp , said the spot of the ball doesnt matter on a clock play like that. just touch it or put it down
and get out of way for team to clock it.
After the clock, then refs can determine proper spot of los, and that will be used for the last play.

So why did the ref move the ball back???????

Well the only thing that makes sense is he was killing the time, that took around 2 seconds at least.
Had he just touched the ball then there would have been 1 second left when it was clocked,
and dallas gets a chance on throw to EZ.

But it seems to me the powers that be didnt want dallas to have that chance.
if dallas had scored the game score would have been "over" no score there and it is "under"
plus if the money on dallas was for them to win, and under, then not letting dallas have another chance there
gave a 2 way win on the gambling angles, and a dallas score/td there means vegas loses on under, and if
dallas were to win in OT then they would lose other bets like point spread.

And maybe gambling comes out better if SF wins, because as we now know SF goes to GB and wins
a game most thought they would lose.

I dont think it is stupid refs, or sloppy reffing lol , I think it was intentional.
I also think the cowboys in their stupidity helped them to do it.

There also should have been a booth review, which there wasnt, I find that odd for an ending like that.
I know time was gone by time ball hit ground on the clock, but still a booth review was needed.
But no booth review, NY did not get involved like they usually do so why not??

I think if dallas had not screwed it up so bad and had time for 1 more play, and if they threw a td pass, there would have been a holding call, so they have to do it again, and if they score again, then another penalty lol.
there was no conspiracy, so lets get that out of the way.

was it incompetency of the officials? yes.

same situation Rams game another ref spots the ball, by just touching it.
the ref's have to be aware of the situational football as well. in this case they weren't. the ref that always set the ball had to race down and set it, so the group didn't understand situational football and got in the way of the game.

there is defintely inconsistency in how games are refereed. NFL has to address that. and the only way they can do that is by having full time referees, as part of NFL

……I don’t think it was intentional, but I will always believe that it was bungled by the officials

I also predict that it will never happen that way to another team. Human error does happen and it has to have been recognized by the League officials……just watch how well the refs handled the final seconds of the Rams playoff game……they got that official to the ball IMMEDIATELY.

After Prescott was tackled, he stood up and handed the ball to his center. Orlovsky pointed out that no quarterback has ever been taught to hand the ball to a teammate, but instead to find and give it directly to the referee

………this added to the crime

What kills me is the drive before the fire drill that ended up with clock running out. Plenty of time and timeouts, no Bosa or Warner on the field, and they couldn't get it done. Stupid penalty, break down in protection, dropped pass and bad QB play. Pretenders.

SSSsshhhhh, we are not to suggest that the ref's may have ulterior motives on helping Las Vegas.

What official was there to hand it to?

Orlovsky is a jack wagon anyways and hates Dallas. So I tend to ignore his opinions.

…..he was so out of position that he had to try to hurdle our Qb and Center to re-spot a ball that he had no idea where it should be…..he blew it

Well the only thing that makes sense is he was killing the time...

Because Dak slid and he's down where he began the slide rather than where he gets up, or the NFL front office put out a directive to screw the Cowboys because they knew that's the only thing that has stopped them in 25 years.

Tough call...

Last play miracle hopefuls, it would have come from the 24-yard line so good luck getting it into the endzone, the Niners would have had 8 men back there covering the goal line.

they lost at the start of the game
Exactly, they looked unprepared and also played sloppy mistake-filled football throughout the game. In the end, they had somewhere in the vicinity of 2:40 seconds to score, more than enough time.

I would argue that INT by Jimmy G was suspicious too, but then I realized it was Jimmy G…

That being said, the last play wasn’t Dak’s fault, they Cowboys were screwed by the refs on it. They deserved one last play as far as the ref’s botching is concerned, whether it was a desperation heave or not.

And BTW, there is plenty of evidence for what Dak said in the PC, that refs in such situations just touch the ball in the ground. There is no QB handing the balls to the ref, the team is basically concerned with lining up before the snap waiting for the ref to touch the ball to hike it.

Even Romo said that day the ref just had to touch it and said if you were a Dallas fan, you should be livid right now.
